Wow what a week for the club. Our Adults won Junior Hurling, under-17 won the county football championship and our schools Kilrane/Tagoat/Rosslare Strand won the district championship. Great for all those involved in the club past and present a huge thanks to all of them.

Adult team played Glynn-Barntown in Bellefield on Sunday, October 20, at 15.45 in front of the biggest St Mary's support to be seen in years. It was great to see so many of our young children there to support the team. It is probably fair to say our team was a bit nervous and did not play the best hurling of the year but the effort, determination and the will to win was phenomenal and Barry Quirke's save at the end was proof of this. Our lads trailed five points to three at half time against the wind. With seven minutes to go we were down by three points and scored 1-2 without reply to win the match. In a thrilling match our lads won the match 1-11 to 12 points. Greats thanks go to David Hates and Jack Murphy Joint Managers, Fred Rossiter, John Hore and Johnny McDonald selectors.

Our under-15 had a great win against Castletown in the county football semi-final winning 4-8 to 0-7. We are looking forward to supporting them in St Patrick's park on November 3 at 12.30 against Blackwater.

Our under-14 Hurlers had a great match against Glynn-Barntown losing by 3-6 to 5-4 in the Martin Storey competition. Our under-17 won the County Roinn two football championship on Tuesday, October 22, in St Patrick's Park on a scoreline St Mary's Rosslare 3-14 (23) Adamstown 1-12 (15) What a final that took us to extra time... to be fair if you weren't in St Patrick's Park last night you missed out on possibly the best exhibition of football by two teams this year in this competition. It was pure entertainment from start to finish. Rosslare got off to a dream start and managed to get an eight point lead on the board before Adamstown opened their account after 23 minutes of play and things were looking up for a comfortable win at half time when the score line read 1-6 to 0-2 thanks to first half scores from Cian Byrne, Tadhg Brohan, Jack O'Hagan and Alex Looney. However Adamstown were not going home without a fight and set about a comeback in the second half, their never say die attitude shone through and they managed to drag the game to extra time out scoring us 1-6 to 0-2. Both sides were now all square after 60 minutes - 1-08 to 1-08. Extra time saw Adamstown score a quick three points in the first five minutes and we were now under pressure, however in true Rosslare resilience every man in a blue and yellow jersey united in a refusal to be defeated and we had to dig deep in our reserves to ensure the Larry Murray Cup was coming back to Ballycowan. It all began from a well worked move at the back which saw us come down field and score two excellent points before a much needed goal ensure the Rosslare attack was now firmly on top. We then opened up the Adamstown defence and another goal looked certain however the Adamstown keeper was on top form and it took us four attempts to sneak the ball to the corner of the net. We motored on to close out a brilliant game with further scores coming from Byrne, Brohan, Looney and Reece de la Cour. The last 10 minutes of extra time was ruled with cramp and exhaustion as both teams had given their all, we had simply emptied the tank we came from three points behind to an 11 point turnaround and to lead by eight with nine minutes to go it was no surprise that there were scenes of pure euphoria at the final whistle by players, management and supporters. A great game of football with massive credit to both sets of players for providing such entertainment. To the boys we offer congratulations, you left nothing behind you and were justly rewarded for your hard work, commitment and dedication this year. Huge thanks to their management team of Larry, Colm, Barry and Michael. To their sponsors we thank you for your support this season also and finally to the parents and supporters who never once doubted or gave up on these lads... last night was a pleasure to see them wearing the Blue and Yellow Jersey and represent us all - The future of St Mary's Rosslare certainly looks good.

Well done to our schools Kilrane, Tagoat and Rosslare Strand national schools who had a great win against Taghmon National school 5-3 to 3-3 in the district Rackard League final on Wednesday, October 23. This is a great achievement and a big thank you to all the teachers who have help in their training this year.

Our Nursery takes a break for Halloween and will be back on November 9 for four to six years old. It is good fun with lots of games.

Well done to our Clubman David Murphy on his appointment as County Wexford Minor Football manager for 2020. Well-deserved after his achievements with the under-16 this year.

Tickets for the 12 days of Christmas are on sale throughout the parish from players, managers, selectors and committee members. You have 12 draws to win from. Tickets are €20 or three for €50. This draw is for the development of the pitches in Tagoat. Your support will be very welcome.

Camogie club news

The camogie club sends our congratulations to the St Mary's hurlers on their brilliant and exciting championship win. It was great to see so many of our camogie club members present at the match. Well done to the hurlers for visiting the schools with the cup and spending time talking to the children. You are great role models for the hurling and camogie players of the future.

Congratulations to the under-17 footballers of St Mary's who also brought home the county championship after a very exciting encounter which went to nail biting extra time. Well done lads.

We wish best of luck to the St Mary's under-15 footballers who have reached the county final and will be in action on November 3.

Our under-eight, under-10, under-12 and under-14 teams are looking forward to their end of season party in Leisuremax on November 3 from five to 7.30 p.m. €5 per child. Looking forward to seeing everyone there for a fun time.
