Rathangan-Cleariestown: Christmas Tree Lights - The Christmas Tree Lights will be switched on in Duncormick on Saturday, December 7, at 8pm. There will be carols, music and light refreshments and Santa will drop by for a visit.

There was no jackpot winner this week. There was 11 match-three winners. The winning numbers were 5, 10, 14 and 20. The winners were Kitty Doyle, Lilly Melia, Orla Boggan, Ned Kelly, Leigh Colfer x two, Amanda Doyle, Audrey Devereux, Seán O'Connor, Dylan O'Brien and Jenny Tobin.
The next lotto draw will be held on Tuesday, November 19, and the jackpot now stands at €5,200.

The parent and Toddler Group meet every second Wednesday starting November 20 from 10 a.m. till 11.30 a.m. Upstairs in Rathangan Hall €3 per family all welcome.
St Vincent de Paul Appeal
The annual St Vincent de Paul Christmas appeal takes place in all of the churches of the diocese of Ferns on the weekend of December 7/8. For some Christmas is 'most worrying time of the year.' Gratitude is expressed for your consistent generosity down the years. Your support has saved some from a lifetime of poverty.
Cleariestown Community Playgroup will be having a Fundraising used clothing collection on Monday, November 25. Due to new regulations we can no longer accept bed linen, towels, curtains and soft toys. Please donate all your clean unwanted clothes, shoes, bags, belts.
You can drop off any items at the playschool any weekday morning between 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. All proceeds from this collection will go directly to the parish council to help with the running costs of our playroom within the community centre. Thank you for your support.
Breast Cancer Fundraiser
A fundraiser in aid of Breast Cancer will be held in Tír na nÓg, Wellingtonbridge, on Friday, December 6, at 8.30 p.m. More details to follow.
The Little Sea Musical Society
The Little Sea Musical Society invites you to come join them to open this year's Christmas Season with 'Mary Poppins Returns with Willy Wonka and Christmas Classics 'an event for all the family with our Christmas treats at the interval in Carrig Hall on December 5 and six and Fethard on December 7. Some of our members were busy 'strutting their stuff' on the catwalk last Tuesday night in the Riverbank House Hotel at a fashion show in aid of Tomhaggard. Social Centre and Tomhaggard Women's Shed. Well done to Pauline, Grainne, Mary, Trish and Colm, who were like true pros. MC on the night was our own Mary Doyle, who did a fantastic job. Well done to all concerned in organising such a great night.
Rathangan parish council
Rathangan parish council wish to thank everyone who helped and supported our bingo on Sunday, November 10. Our next bingo is on Sunday, December 1, at 2.30 in Rathangan hall. The snowball will be €500 in 46 numbers. Also our Country Music Festival will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2020. Tickets will be on sale for this on December 1. Watch this space for more details soon.
Housing Association AGM
The annual general meeting of Rathangan senior citizens Housing Association Ltd will take place in Rathangan Hall at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 6. annual Report and accounts will be presented along with information on work and plans at the McCaul Community Centre (old house). All and everyone welcome.
We extend sympathy this week to the family of Bridget Harpur Heavenstown and formally Levitstown and also to Ann Barry Belgrove on the death of her father Ber Keane Broadway. May they both rest in peace.
Remembering Our Dead
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for our Faithful Departed and especially those who died during the past year. On Sunday, November 24, in the Church of the Assumption, Rathangan at 11 a.m. (candles will be lit for those who died during the last year, and families are welcome to take these candles home afterwards). Camross Drama Group
The cast and crew of 'Pity about Kitty' had a very busy time, travelling to One Act festivals far and wide. Kellie Cox and Paddy O'Gorman were both nominated for best actress/actor awards in Kilmallock and Kellie won best actress in Cork. Well done. Competition is fierce and despite no placings so far, adjudicators and audiences were very complimentary about 'Kitty'. The troupe will be off to Doonbeg on Sunday for a final performance - break a leg.

Mary Kelly presided over the November meeting held on Monday, November 4, with Minutes, Correspondence and Finance dealt with by Margaret Nolan, Mary Nolan and Dympna Kelly. Sympathy was extended to Eileen Redmond, Mary Kelly and family of Breda Whelan on their recent bereavements. Our table quiz team of Maggie Morrissey, Cheryl O'Neill and Margt O'Gorman were congratulated on finishing in second place after a tie break. Thanks to Mairead O'Gorman on embroidering the ICA Oak leaf and members were wished all the best at the Environment Awards.
The Federation Meeting will be held in Riverbank Hotel on Monday, November 25. at 8 p.m. and Breda Whelan will be our entrant with Best Autumnal Arrangement competition. Four members will attend National AGM in Port Laoise on Saturday, November 23.
Guild members will serve Christmas Dinner at our senior citizens Party to be held on Sunday, November 24. at 1.30 p.m., and all preparations were dealt with. The guild will have their own Christmas lunch on Sunday, December 8, in Riverbank House Hotel.
Marian Donnelly and Breda Banville were winners of Best Decorated Apple and Mary Farrell Kelly and Margt OGorman, Poulpeasty served us all a delicious tea. The annual Ecumenical Memorial Service, celebrated by Fr Robert and Esther Rynhart followed the meeting.
Next meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 2. 8 p.m., the competition is Homemade Christmas Tree Decoration and Mary Margt Roche will give a demo on Christmas wreaths after the meeting. New members are always welcome, feel free to come and join us at any time. Our meetings are held in the upper room of Camross Hall on first Monday of each month.

Shane Moore will have all our dancing friends 'tripping the light fantastic' at our December dance which will be held in Camross Ballroom on Friday, December 6. The free draw continues for December and January, with the Grand Draw for monetary prizes plus more being held on Friday, January 3. Dancing 9.30 p.m. till late, admission €10 including the tea.

Athletic Club news
Taghmon AC would like to congratulate their athletes on their participation at this year's cross country events at county and Leinster level.
At the even ages counties held at the JFK Kayleigh Butler, Izzy Aspel and Emma Creane were all placed in the top 10 of the under-10 race. Louise Hanlon, Róisín Reville, and Grainne Kelly claimed second team. Orla Kelly came 10th in the under-14. Irene and James Hanlon also ran very well on the day.
At the uneven counties held in Coolgreany Kayleigh, Izzy and Emma again were all placed in the top 10 of the county championship under-11 race. The girls also claimed gold in the team event.
Izzy and Kayleigh took part in the Leinsters under-10 non-championship race in Gowran with Kayleigh coming third and Izzy 13th.
Most recently the club had three athletes take part in the Leinsters under-11 championship race in Offaly as part of the Wexford team with Kayleigh coming 31st, Izzy 50th and Emma 119th.
GAA Club notes
There was no winner of the club lotto draw last Tuesday night. The jackpot will remain at €14,000 till we get a winner but the reserve jackpot will keep going up while we wait. It's now up to €4,400. Please encourage any family or friends living away from the area to support the draw through the online Taghmon-Camross page on the Klub
Funder website. The deadline for online sales is at 6.30 on draw night and the minimum spend on the online system is €6. Tickets can also be bought from usual outlets.

Big Generator will be playing live at the centre on Saturday, November 30, and tickets will cost €10. Our camogie club are running a fundraiser in collaboration with the Hope Cancer Foundation. Tickets will be on sale around the village and the draw will take place on December 1.
A poker night is being lined up for Friday, December 6, Tickets will cost €20 and there will be door prize and cash prizes totaling €800.

This year Taghmon-Camross camogie club are holding a 'Hurling for Hope' raffle, which is now in full swing. 30% of all ticket sales will go direct to the Hope Cancer Support Centre. Tickets are available from camogie players and committee members, as well as in many local businesses throughout the village.
First prize is an amazing 'Hurling Hamper' - a signed wexford jersey, two tickets for next year's wexford hurling league match vs Dublin, a hurl, bag of sliotars and a €50 dinner voucher for the Yard Resturant. Second prize is a 'Family Funday' - Bowling for six and Congo Quest for four in the Dome Family entertainment centre Carlow and a €50 dinner voucher for Mary Barrys Kilmore.3rd Prize is a Tonne bag filled of firewood from Butlerstown Firewood.
