On the weekend of September 14/15, a ceremony to mark the beginning of the school year at all Masses in the parish - Glynn and Barntown. As part of the planned redevelopment at Barntown Community Centre, we are looking for teens aged 12 to 19 to complete a quick survey on what they would like to see at the community centre. ARA Club news

50 members and friends enjoyed a great four-day trip to Castlecourt Hotel Westport last week. Weather mostly held good, lots of great scenery on Achill Island and en route to Kylemore Abbey. Great food every day and lots of dancing and laughs. Thank you to everyone who came along and look forward to seeing you all again.

Our club re-opens on September 10 from 2.30 to 4.30. New members (over-55s) most welcome. we will be organising speakers, day trips and annual coach trip for 2020 shortly.

Scout Group news

Cubs and Scouts return to weekly meetings on September 10 at 7.30 p.m. and Beavers return on Thursday, September 12. If you missed registration night please come along on 10th and register on that night. Registration Fee which includes annual insurance cover and payable to our National Office is €65 this year.

'American Tea Party'

The board of Knockingall Community Centre are once again organising the 'American Tea Party' type community social night on Friday, September 27, starting 7.30 p.m. Live music by Tom Murphy. Tickets €10 pp and bring your own bottle/can whatever on the night.

This was a fantastic night last year, and is a fundraiser for continued upgrading of the centre, we have some water leaking issues which need to be sorted before the 'real winter' returns soon.

The hall is available on some days/evenings to rent for meetings, dance classes, children's birthday parties, and open to all scout seven Guide groups for camping/overnights inside or outside. There will be a table quiz in Wexford golf club on November 15 it will be a fundraiser for Wexford Special Olympics Sports Club and Knockingall Organisation Community Centre - more details closer to the date.

Watercolour classes

Watercolor art classes with Maria Murphy take place at Murrintown community centre each Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Classes run in blocks of six weeks. Classes to suit beginners or improvers. For details phone Maria at 086 3848364.

Hospice Coffee Day

A Coffee Day in aid of Wexford Hospice Homecare will be held at the home of Dympna Kelly, Kilgarvan, Taghmon on Tuesday, September 10, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Garden Talk

Camross ICA have a Garden Talk organised for Saturday, September 21, at 10.30 a.m. in Beechdale Garden Centre where Olga will provide lots of information on Bulbs, Propagation and Containers for winter Interest. This event is open to all so come along and enjoy. Cost €5 including tea or coffee and a cookie.

Members of the group enjoyed their autumn Supper in Camross Hall, before their September meeting on Monday, September 2.

Members enjoyed a host of savouries and niceties and thus a contented group attended the meeting afterwards with Mary Kelly presiding. A number of members were congratulated on welcoming new grand children into the world and Mary Margaret Roche gave us details of her trip to the Rose of Tralee where her grand daughter Emma Byrne represented Wexford and she did us proud.

Camross will host the Federation table quiz in Rochfords Lounge on Thursday, October 24, next and Dympna Kelly will host the Hospice Coffee Day on Tuesday, September 10. next from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at her home in Kilgarvan, Taghmon. President Mary, presented certificates to members that completed Computer training last Spring.

The autumn Federation meeting will be held in Riverbank Hotel on Monday, September 23. And the guild will be well represented.

The ICA Fun Walk/Run will be held on Sunday, September 22, and Camross will partake in the walk held in JFK Park starting at 2 p.m., this event is open to all.

Breda Banville, produce promoter has a Garden Talk organised for Saturday, September 21, starting at 10.30 a.m. in Beechdale Garden Centre where Olga will provide loads of information on Bulbs, Propagation and Containers for winter interest. All are very welcome, adm. €5 including coffee/tea and a Cookie. President Mary thanked all that looked after the ICA Rockery during the summer, watering and feeding and it's still looking very well.

Craft and art nights will be finalised at October meeting which will be held on Monday the seventh at 8 p.m. and the competition will be Nicest Arrangement of Wild Flowers in any make or model of Teapot and oasis may be used. Dympna Kelly was the Sept. competition winner which was the prettiest teacup.

GAA notes

Next weekend sees a busy weekend of football for the adult teams. The Junior B footballers play Sarsfields in the County Quarter Final in Cushinstown on Friday night at 7.30. The intermediate footballers will play HWH Bunclody in the County Quarter Final on Sunday in Bellefield at 1.30. On Saturday there will be Intermediate A Football Quarter Finals played in Taghmon Kilmore play Ratharogue Cushinstown at 1.30 followed by volunteers v Clongeen at 3.30. All teams and mentors appreciate your support at these vital end of season games.

There was no winner of the club lotto draw last week and only one match-three winner. The jackpot will remain at €14,000 till we get a winner. Please encourage any family or friends living away from the area to support the draw through the new online Taghmon-Camross page on the Klub

Thanks to all involved in the recent Robert Mizzell concert and hopefully everyone that attended enjoyed the night. The club's Last Man Standing competition got up and running last weekend. After 47 entrants bowed out in the first week the remaining 63 players are playing for a prize of €367. Thanks to all that signed up.
