Kilmore active Retirement Association members went on a day trip on Wednesday last to Duncannon Fort, Tintern Abbey and Gardens and finished up with a meal in the Silver Fox in Kilmore Quay.
The guided tour of the Fort in Duncannon was a very enlightening event as our guide Susan gave us a wonderful history of the life of the Fort. In Tintern we also had guided tour of the Abbey which again delved into the history of the Abbey and we then visited the walled garden, which has really matured since we were last there a few years ago.
The day ended with a lovely meal in the Silver Fox following which the general opinion of those in attendance, was that it was a really enjoyable day with special thanks to Margaret Byrne and the social committee.
