Sad passing

Deepest sympathy to the MacCormac family Dublin on the death of their mother Eileen last week. Eileen was wife of the late Dessie and both spent a lot of time at their summer house in Cullenstown. Eileen is survived by her daughters Adrienne, Lisa, Caroline and Aoife son-in-laws and grandchildren. Funeral Mass took place on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Holy Spirit, Kimmage Manor with burial afterwards in Mount Venus Cemetery. May she rest in peace.

Corach Ramblers news

The Men's A side had a long and eventful day today in the first round of the Neil O'Sullivan Cup. The game ended 1-1 with Hermy on target and only 10 players on the pitch. Extra time ended 2-2. Niall Harney's free kick was saved but Conor was in the right place to tap it in. The drama finally ended with a 9-8 penalty shoot out win with Kieran Furlong saving two along the way. Well done, lads.

Unfortunately the B side ran into a tough Cloughbawn side and were soundly beaten.

The ladies lost 1-0 to Bree Utd in a frustrating game that they should have won well and tightened their grip on the league title.

Fair play to all our underage players who braved some nasty weather on Saturday. Hard luck to the hard working under-14 boys who lost 1-0 to Courtown Hibs. The under-12 boys reversed this scoreline when they won 1-0 v Ferns Utd with a goal from Alex Lambert. Finally, hard luck to the under-12 girls who were beaten 5-0 by the All Blacks.

The club would like to acknowledge the success of some underage players. Congratulations to Laura McCarthy who made the under-13 county panel - Lorcan Breen at Youths level and Shane Carroll and Cillian Cullen, who now have a Leinster final to look forward to with the under-15 county side.

Off the pitch William Cullenton won a trip for two to Old Trafford to watch a game (plus flights/hotel) in the recent FAI draw and Anna Chatman won €510 in the clubs split-the-pot.

Deepest condolences to the McGrath Family and to the families of Richard Neville, who was joint president to our club. Richard was a fine football player in his day to the Bannow-Ballymitty Club. He was in his 100th year what a great age to be up and active.
