Ballymurn: Community Meeting. A meeting was held last Thursday night regarding Ballymurn Community Hall. The meeting was a great success and we plan to have another meeting on Tuesday, March 12, at 7.30 p.m. If you have any ideas regarding the renovations of the hall please come along to the next meeting,
We want this to be a community project so everyone's opinion is important. We will be sending a survey to every house in the parish and we hope everyone will complete this as it gives us a better idea what amenities people want in our community.
Congratulations to Alan White and team on getting through to the finals of the Junk Kouture in the 3Arena with their creation Colourful Minds. This is the first time St Mary's CBS Enniscorthy took part in this competition. Well done to everyone involved.

Pilgrimage to Lourdes
This year's pilgrimage to Lourdes is from May 11 to May 16. Applications are now available for the Invalid section.

St Patrick's Weekend Run/Walk
Galbally Sports and Leisure Club will host a 10k Run and 5k Walk on bank holiday Monday, March 18. The event will begin at 11 a.m., with registration taking place from 10 a.m. onwards. Entry fee is €5 for the 5k walk and €10 for the 10k run. Both events are open to all ages and abilities. The 10k race will be chip timed and there will be prizes for the first man and woman home. Refreshments will be served to all participants in the hall afterwards. Everyone is invited to come along and get involved in what promises to be a great community event.
Daffodil Day will take place on March 22 and the local Enniscorthy committee is calling for public support in advance of the day. We are asking the local community to come out and support us as you have done over the last number of years. We also need your help in providing fresh daffodils for our big fundraising day. Please drop your daffodils to the Legion of Mary Hall, Enniscorthy on Thursday evening, March 21, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Every daffodil helps.

Galbally Sports and Leisure Club will hold its AGM on Friday, March 22, at 8 p.m. in Galbally Hall. All members of the community are invited to attend and to get involved in the rejuvenation of our community centre.

Community Games News
It is that time of year for Bree-Davidstown/Cloughbawn Community Games Activities to resume for the 2019 season. Closing date of March 16 is fast approaching for those interested in taking part in Gymnastics, Swimming, art, Handwriting, Talent and quiz.
There will be local trials for art under-seven to under-16 and Handwriting under-nine to under-12 in Bree Hall on Saturday, March 16, at 10 a.m. and local trials for quiz under-14 in Bree Hall on March 16 at 8 p.m. Some county final dates are as follows: Gymnastics March 24; Quiz is April 10; Swimming April 17 and Talent April 25.

The Sound of Music
The musical 'The Sound of Music' will be staged in Oylegate Community Centre on Wednesday the 27th, Thursday the 28th, Friday the 29th, Saturday March, nightly at 8 p.m. Tickets can now be booked by telephoning 9138192, or 087 9552727. Adults €12 and Primary school children €6. One of the most popular musicals ever, telling the story of Maria, who leaves the convent to become governess to the Von Trappe children. Truly a treat for young and the not so young.

GAA Syndicate: The final draw for the first year of syndicate will be on March 27. Ballaghkeene National School
The Green School Committee of Ballaghkeene NS have entered the SEAI 'One Good Idea' competition. Their idea is to reduce the use of disposable plastic and paper cups and begin using re-usable cups in an effort to save our environment. The members of the 'Cup Crew' in Ballaghkeene National School are trying to raise awareness around the parish through posters, newsletters, videos/photos on - line. Their motto is 'Chuck the Cup'. They have successfully made it through to Round Two (one of only 40 schools) and are hoping to go all the way and win the competition. So - Please pay heed to their campaign and Chuck the Cup.
The Oulart-The Ballagh Unit of Community First Responders is live, seven nights a week and all day at weekends, assisting the National Ambulance Service, on a totally voluntary basis. Anyone interested in joining the group is asked to contact Vickie (087 7780749) or Ger (086 1578484).
Community Text Alert
The AGM of Oulart Text Alert will take place on Wednesday, March 13, in the Legion of Mary Hall (situated just below and on the same side as St Patrick's Church), in Oulart Village. A vacancy exists for chairperson of the group.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend the AGM and to play a part in securing the safety and security of the residents of the area and their property. Your support, as always, is greatly appreciated.

Oulart-The Ballagh GAA Mayoral Campaign fundraising efforts have come to a close, with the winner to be announced on March 16 in Oulart Community Centre, beginning at 9 p.m. when Oulart Community Centre will be packed to capacity. Admission is free, finger-food will be available along with Bar facilities and music will be provided by Country Outlaws.
Congratulations to the candidates, Phil Redmond and Martin 'Sponger' Fortune and their teams who did trojan work throughout the campaign and raised vital funds towards the development and improvement of facilities which will be of lasting benefit to the local community, particularly our youth. The GAA club is very appreciative of the generous response of the people of the parish as well as marvellous support from people and businesses from outside the parish.
Secondary Schools GAA/Camogie
Jake Stamp, Chris Lawless and Declan Sinnott (who scored three goals three points from play) were on the starting 15 of the Coláiste an Átha, Klmuckridge hurling team that lost to Duiske College in the Leinster Junior C one final recently. Cathal Kennedy and Jack Lyons-Corrigan came on as substitutes while also on the panel were Clinton McCormack, Eoin Harris-Fortune, Nathan Browne and Jake Cox.
Parents/Guardians of underage GAA and camogie players are reminded that ALL players must be registered for training and playing matches and that the deadline to enter competitions and to register teams is fast approaching.

The primary schools in the parish are doing well in the schools' competitions and the combined schools are playing Rathnure tomorrow (Wednesday, March 13), in Round Two of Rackard League Hurling. That important match will be in Oulart at 2.30 p.m. Your support would be greatly appreciated. The parish schools' camogie team will be away to Marshalstown on today (Tuesday, March 12) at 2.15 p.m. Best of luck to all the teams and their mentors.
The boys from the Ballagh National School have qualified for the semi-finals of the Rackard League Mini-Sevens, to be played March 19 - 22nd. On their way to the semi-finals they defeated Bree, St Aidan's (Enniscorthy), Oulart and Monageer.
Oulart-The Ballagh under-13 and under-15 hurlers are participating in the Leinster Leagues and are getting lots of game time and have a few matches still to play. The senior camogie team have advanced to the semi-final stages of the Leinster League as well.
