Tara Bishop 5K Fun Run
Well done to Bobby Redmond and his family for all their hard work in organising the Tara Bishop 5K Fun Run. Sincere thanks also to KDK who sponsored the event and to all of you who came out in support and made it all possible. It was a fantastic day and we hope that everyone enjoyed themselves. The event raised €6,435 to be split 50/50 between Ballymurn School and Temple Street Children's Hospital.

Under-7 hurling training for boys and girls has started back on Monday nights in the indoor arena from 6.15 p.m. to 7 p.m. All players should have a hurl, helmet and wear boots when training inside. The cost of each training session is €2 per child.
Well done to Darren Byrne, who became the first Blackwater hurler since James Ormonde in 1965 to line out for the Wexford senior hurling team in league/championship against Cork in the last weekend. He played the full match at full back and will be hoping to start against Tipp in next week. It's great to see the Blackwater name among the Wexford hurlers again. Blackwater hurlers were a feature of the Wexford team back in the early 1900s.
Hurling365 will be starting shortly and the club is looking for members to help out. Please contact Joe Cullen if you wish to coach.

The Wayside Players
The Wayside Players will perform their three-act play 'It's the Real McCoy' on Sunday, February 17, in the Blackwater Lodge at 7 p.m. and then again on Monday, February 18, at 8 p.m. Admission €5. All support welcome as we prepare for the 2019 3-Act circuit.

GRANDPARENTS DAY - A huge thank you to all those who came to our now annual event last Wed, a great day was had by all. Thank you all the parents and relations who provided all the lovely buns and bakes, and to the parents' association for hosting the event. A lovely day and lots of memories made.
CONFIRMATION - This will take place on March 15 and the Ceremony of light will take place on the 19th of Feburary.
ALDI RUGBY VOUCHERS - The school is collecting the Aldi rugby vouchers for the school. Please ask for them and donate them to the school, you can ask all your relations and friends to give them to the children.
The sympathy of the community is extended to the chairperson of Oulart-The Ballagh camogie club, Mrs Geraldine Doyle,(Glynnranny) her husband Mike and family on the death of her mother, Mrs Peg Murphy, Tacumshane, whose funeral Mass took place in St Catherine's Church, Tacumshane on Friday, February 8, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. The late Mrs Murphy was predeceased by her husband Nick.
She is mourned by her daughters Frances, Elizabeth and Geraldine, her sisters Betty, Nora, Sr. Genevieve, brothers Nick, Martin, Billy and Seán, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. Solas na bhFlaitheas dá hanam dílis.
New Cook Book
Transition Year Students in St Mary's CBS, Enniscorthy, Edward O'Dowd (Monavullen) Aaron Byrne and Seán Walsh have compiled a very attractive, 50 page cookbook called 'Eat like an Athlete' which is a collection of recipes and healthy tips from various well-known Irish sporting personalities including Tadhg Furlong, Paul McGrath, Deirdre Duke, Paul and Gary O'Donovan, Colin Fennelly, Liam Silke and Danny Mullins as well as Oulart-The Ballagh stars Adam Nolan, Mary Leacy, Ursula Jacob, Nicola Sinnott and Keith Rossiter. To promote the cookbook, Edward O'Dowd featured on South East Radio during the week. The cookbook is on sale in Corrigan's of Oulart at €8. Hurry and get your copy.
Scoil Mochua Notes
Enrolment Forms, for junior infants and any other pupils who wish to start school in September 2019, are available from the school office, 9 a.m. to 2.40 p.m. Parents/Guardians are advised to complete and submit enrolment forms as soon as possible.
Used Clothes Collection
Scoil Mochua's next Used Clothes Collection will take place on Tuesday, February 26. Bags of clothes should be left at the school gates before 9.30 p.m. on that morning. Items of clothing, bags, paired shoes, belts, hats, towels, curtains and bed sheets are welcome. No duvets or pillows please.
A meeting of Scoil Mochua's parents' association will take place on Tuesday, February 19, at 8 p.m. All parents/guardians are invited to attend.
The latest winner of Scoil Mochua's split-the-pot is Caroline Jordan, who wins €139. Entry envelopes are available from all local businesses. The next draw will be held on February 11.
Wexford GAA are offering 21 part-funded scholarships to Coláiste Laighean, New Ross in the summer of 2019.The scheme is based on the player's family, the player's club and Wexford GAA paying one-third each of the cost of the two - week residential course. Applicants apply to their local GAA Club and will be included in a draw to determine who wins the scholarship. The student's family only has to pay €160.
The dates of the Courses are as follows: June 23 to July 7 (Cúrsa C for second year-5th Year), July 12 to July 26 (Cúrsa D for sixth class-2nd Year). Each club may nominate two names. Parents/guardians of Oulart-The Ballagh GAA and camogie players who would like their child to be entered for the draw are asked to contact Oulart-The Ballagh, Oifigeach Gaeilge and Cultúr, Breda Jacob (086 1686978) no later than March 4. If there are more than two applicants locally, a supervised draw will be held and the successful applicants will be notified.

CPR Information Evening
CPR could save the life of someone you know. In order to be able to provide a very valuable and much needed service within community we need people to volunteer to be trained as First Aid Responders and also people to help out with the administration and organisation. This service is run in conjunction with the national ambulance service and could save your life or someone you love. An information meeting will be held on Wednesday the 13th. GAA Walking Track
The top track will be fully lit every Monday/Wednesday/Friday evening from 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. for anyone who wishes to avail of the facility to get fit and healthy for 2019. Everybody welcome. Unfortunately for health and safety reasons guide dogs only are allowed.

The services will accommodate those attending appointments, shopping etc. Where possible they will collect passengers from their homes.
