Cllr Pat Barden will host an important Development Meeting this Thursday, November 7, in Adamstown Community Centre at 9 p.m. Can all clubs, businesses, organisations, residents and undividuals ensure they attend this important meeting to voice their opinions on enhancing and developing amenities within our village.

November Memorial Tree Fundraiser. Remember your loved ones in a special way this November. 'Remembrance Tree' memorial wooden discs personalised with your loved ones names - €4 each.
Wooden discs can be ordered from Yvonne English at 087 9578746; Michelle Payne at 086 8516291 or order from any of the parents' association members. They will also be available to purchase after Mass during the month of November.
The personalised wooden discs will be placed on the 'Remembrance Tree' in St Abban's Church during November, the month of the Holy Souls. All will be especially remembered in the November Masses in St Abban's Church from Monday, November 18, to Saturday, November 23.
They will then be returned to the family as a memento. All proceeds will go to the Adamstown National School's fundraiser for an upgrade to the school playground.
Congratulations to Sandra Thorpe, who received the ladies' team player of the year and Ann Marie Dunphy, who received the mixed player of the year award at their recent club celebrations in Foley's of Newbawn.

Altars and Decoration : Thanks to the ladies from Brocurra for looking after the church and Altars for the month of October, it is now the turn of parishioners from Coonogue for the month of November.

Saturday, November 23, For all who died during the year. Mass in St Abban's Oratory will be celebrated at 7.30 p.m. each evening.
All present will receive a candle which will be left lighting before the Blessed Sacrament after Mass. Please return your envelopes as soon as possible, an offering is optional. You are welcome to attend every night or any other night.

Hard luck to our under-16 camogie team who put up a great battle in their Co Premier final last weekend. Our girls trailed by just a point at half time but Kilrush got a much-needed goal in the second half and despite their hard work our girls couldn't close the gap. Final score Glynn-Barntown 0-8 Kilrush 1-12. Well done to all involved.

Fundraising campaign update
I would firstly like to thank everyone who has already set up a standing order for our three-year fundraising campaign for Barntown Community Centre and to those who have generously donated to the fund. The committee is so grateful for your help to date. In order to rebuild the centre we need your help. We are continuing to ask households to sign up to our three-year fundraising plan.
All the money raised will finance the build, which will result in Barntown having a modern, accessible facility that will be open for use by everyone in our community. The sign up is less than €5 a week.
