Adamstown: Boxing Win - Well done to Jack Egan, a member of St. Abban's Boxing club on winning the Leinster Cahmpionship J1 60kg title held in Arklow Boxing club. Jack in coached by Michael Richardson, continued success Jack.


Well done to Joe, 4th on the national senior 20K race walking new PB 1.36.03. Ciara 1st 3K open juvenile.

It was great to see Adamstown athletics represented at the Wexford Athletics Awards night.

Unfortunately the national school sports hall county final had to be cancelled due to health and safety at this time.

The GAA and Ladies' Football Club are running an GAA Easter Camp from April 14 to April 17 in Ballymurn Pitch. Camp times: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Camp Ages: five years to 13 years. Cancelled Events

The open meeting in Bree Community Centre on Monday, March 23, has been postponed. The Macra dinner dance scheduled for Friday, March 27, and Celtic Roots Concert scheduled for March 29 have also both been postponed. The Galbally 10k Run and 5k walk this Sunday, March 15, will also be postponed.

computer Course

'Getting Citizens Online', a free basic computer course suitable for absolute beginners of any age starts in Galbally Sports and Leisure Club on Thursday, March 26, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and runs for five weeks. For further details and to book a place contact Dawn at 087 8306206.

Galbally Fashion Show

Galbally Sports and Leisure Club will host a 'Spring into summer' Fashion Show in Whites Hotel, Wexford on Thursday, April 1. This event will showcase men's and ladies' fashions from local shops including the Clothesline, Candy, Hore's Stores, Carrig Donn, Julie Caulfield Boutique (Kilmore) and In Stitch (Bridgetown). Tickets are €10 each and are available from participating shops and from any committee member. There will be raffle with many great prizes, a €100 door prize and a €100 voucher for the best dressed audience member. Definitely, a night not to be missed.

Galbally car boot sale

The next Galbally car boot sale will take place on Easter Monday, April 13, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Galbally Sports and Leisure Club. Bookings can be made by phoning Dawn at 087 8306206.

Tractor Run

Reserve Sunday, May 31, for the annual Galbally Tractor Run.



The death occurred on Sunday, March 8, of Tom Byrne, Mohurry, Kiltealy. Deepest sympathy is extended to his sons Tommy, Johnny, Hughie and James and to his daughters Margaret, Maryellen and Deirdre. Sympathy also to his sisters Betty, Joan and Alice, also grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family and friends.

Tom was husband of the late Mary (Molly) who pre-deceased him by a little over three years. He was also pre-deceased by his son and daughters the late Elizabeth, Damian and Philomena and by his sister and brothers the late Mary, John, Jim and Hugh.

Tom was very popular in the community and well known over a wide area which was evident at his funeral Mass in Kiltealy Church on Wednesday last week which was packed to capacity. Interment took place afterwards in Kiltealy Cemetery. May he rest in peace.


Winner of Kiltealy NS split-the-pot last week was Kayla and Oran Grogan, who won €171. Play split-the-pot every week, envelopes available locally. Many thanks for your continued support.


The last clothes collection for Kiltealy school raised €513. 60. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this school fundraiser. The school plan to hold the Celtic Travelling Book Fair bringing a great selection of the very best books to inspire and entertain young readers. The school will earn free books and resources based on the sales of the fair. More details later.


Kiltealy Community Hall development group 350 members draw 2020. €5,000 in prize money. €5 per week for 10 weeks or €50. Draw will take place in Kiltealy Hall after Mass on Saturday, April 4, Proceeds go to hall and Park (provide toilet and upgrade sewerage system) Please contact any committee member.

First Responders AGM

An AGM of the Oylegate-Glenbrien First Responders Group will be held on Thursday, March 19, in Mernagh's lounge at 7 p.m. New and existing members are invited to attend on the night. 'Bumper Bingo Night'

There will be a 'Bumper Bingo Night' fundraiser for Holy Family NS on Saturday, April 4, at 7 p.m. in Oylegate Community Centre. Prize fund of €3,000. Over-16s only. Tickets cost €15. limited to 250. Upgrade to double book €5 available on the night. Door prize €100. Ticket only on the night. Raffle and refreshments available.

Spring Clean

The National Spring Clean 2020 campaign runs throughout the whole month of April. Glenbrien Village Renewal Group has registered with and is under the auspices of Environment section Wexford County Council and with an Taisce. It aims to promote local responses for eliminating litter and heighten awareness of litter and waste issues. By volunteering for the campaign you can take an active role in improving and maintaining your local environment, by making it a cleaner and more enjoyable place to live in. Participating in the National Spring Clean provides an opportunity towards good civic mindedness and to get involved with your local community and take action against all the litter that spoils our environment.

Gardens in Church Grounds

The Gardens are a place for people to visit for a quite prayer or reflection during day light hours. Please NO litter, NO smoking, NO alcohol, NO drug use and NO loitering after dark.

Walking Track

The lights will be on at the walking track at the GAA Grounds every Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and the facility is available to all in the community, so come along and stay fit over the winter months. The couch to 5k group meet Wednesday evenings. All welcome to take part.

Local Link Wexford

Local Link Wexford provides secure, reliable and affordable transport for the rural communities of County Wexford. Services are open to everyone and all ages. The services will accommodate those attending appointments, shopping etc. Where possible they will collect passengers from their homes. An information booklet together with timetable is available at the back of the church.

Please note Mass times in Oylegate: Saturday vigil Mass is at 6.30 p.m. Sunday morning Mass is at 10.30 a.m.

The Ballagh


Congratulations to the most recent winners of the Ballagh split-the-pot: Eileen Walsh, who won €80 and Johnny Murray, who won €65. Thank you to all participants for your continued support. Boxing Club

The Ballagh Boxing Club continues to go from strength to strength, keeping up its proud tradition of producing champions. The most recent local star who is making a name for himself is Ryan Cullen, who is now a four-time Leinster champion. The club will be closed till further notice due to the Government's announcement re the Coronavirus.

Litter Picking

The Ballagh Litter Picking will commence on Saturday, March 21, with participants meeting at the Ballagh Community Centre at 10 a.m. Litter picking equipment and plastic bags will be provided.

People from all areas will be needed to come along so that they can clean-up their own roads. There is no set time for picking up the rubbish so you can do it in your own time.
