A meeting and AGM of the local branch of the community alert group will be held in Ballymitty hall on Tuesday, November 21, at 8 p.m.


Dancing continues every Thursday night in Tír na nÓg with music this Thursday, November 16, South Bound, Thursday the 23rd Richie Halpin, and Thursday the 30th Michael Ellard. Starts from 9.30 all welcome refreshments served.

Voluntary Bus Drivers are urgently needed to bring the Residents of Grantstown Daycare Centre to Sunday Mass. If you have an hour or two to spare any Sunday morning and have a license to drive a Minibus we would love to hear from you. You could bring them to Ballymitty or Carrig Church. ARA over-50s Group

Following our AGM of last week, our warmest and hearfelt appreciation was extended to our very popular retiring chairperson, Jack Handcock. Jack has served our Bannow-Ballymitty committe steadfastly over many years and has been engaged in every committee role, demonstrating a commendable level of committment and dedication to his duties. Jack will continue to be an active member of the group and is very deserving of retirement from official duties.

We offer a very warm welcome to Cathy Fitzharris, our new chairperson and wish her and the committee a productive and exciting year ahead.

While all normal activities continue, our next major event will be our annual Christmas Dinner in December.

Christmas Cards

OLI 'Women's Kitchen' Project will have a stall selling their unique handmade Christmas cards at the Christmas Craft Fair on Sunday, November 26, in Hotel Rosslare from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. All proceeds from this stall will be used to fund future community projects in Our Lady's Island.


Congratulations to Joan Power, Summertown on winning €150 in last week's split-the-pot draw. Draw takes place in the community centre on Sunday after Mass. Thanks to all involved.

Environment Group

Rosslare Harbour/Kilrane Environment Group's Christmas Cards will be available from various outlets including Caroline's Cafe, Topaz Garage, SuperValu, Teresa's Shop, Vera Fox or a committee member.

Our annual raffle and Christmas Card sale fundraiser will take place on Friday, December 15, at Murphy's SuperValu from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Reminder: A WEEE (Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment) cage only for small Household electrical goods and a container for the recycling of fluorescent tubes is situated at the back of the Railway Social Club. It is open on Saturday mornings between 10 a.m. to 11.30 a.m., weather permitting.

Christmas Craft Fair

KRH Tops Community Group will host a Christmas Craft Fair in Hotel Rosslare on Sunday November 26 from 11 a.m. to 4p.m. Mrs Claus and her helpers will be on hand to read stories round the fireside and the children will be able to make and take home decorations for your tree, whilst you browse. There will be a special Christmas Bar Food Menu available on the day if you fancy a break from the cooking. Still a couple of spaces left if anyone is interested in putting in a stall.
