Open Garden

Gerald and Kathy Dunne, Merton will host an Open Garden Fundraiser at their home in Merton this Sunday, July 9, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a raffle, plant and produce stall, cake stall, bottle stall and lots more. Admission is €3 with tea and treats. All proceeds in aid of Clonmore Church.

Ballybrennan Patron will be held on Friday evening, July 14, and Bree on Sunday, August 20.


Reserve Saturday, August 26, for the annual Barndance in Byrne's of Bree Grainstore.

Bri Beag

Thanks to everyone who donated and purchased items at the recent coffee morning. Thanks also to the Men's Shed Group, who made a very generous donation to Bri Beag in recent weeks.

Ballyhogue GAA News

Well done to the Ballyhogue under-14 hurlers who reached the semi-final of their division in the Féile. They did their club very proud. The Féile section hosted in Bree was a great success and thanks to everyone for their help. For pictures of the Féile and photographer information check out the Ballyhogue GAA Facebook page.

Hard luck to the Junior Hurlers, who lost in the league final to Bunclody recently in Patrick's Park.

Bree AC News

Congratulations to the boys under-13 Relay of Shane Doran, Seán Rowley, Ryan Whelan, Robbie Chapman and Oisin Rochford, who won the silver medals in the National Relay Championships on Sunday last.

Best wishes to all Bree AC athletes competing in the under-12-19 National Championships this weekend.

Celtic Roots return

A full Irish show in association with Celtic Roots will begin in Bree Hall on Tuesday, July 11. The night's entertainment begins at 8.30 p.m. with a scone and light refreshments followed by an hour and a half show of music, song, dance and storytelling. Admission is 10 for adults with concessions for children and groups. For bookings contact 087 7535354.

Edermine Regatta

Edermine Ferry Rowing Club will host their annual Regatta over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, July 8 and 9. The regatta will open with the traditional blessing of the boats on Saturday afternoon and racing is expected to commence both days at approximately 4 p.m. subject to tide conditions being suitable.

Competitive categories range from under-12s in junior races up through the various adult races and there promises to be a colourful display of Wexford Slaney Cots from the Slaney Rowing Association clubs as they compete for the winning titles and silverware to covet from the 25 race-final schedule.

The club wishes all competitors every success and enjoyment over the weekend and welcomes all supporters and spectators to their regatta.

SVP summer Collection

Parks Tennis

Wexford Parks Tennis summer Tennis Camp in Clonard is at Scoil Mhuire. July 3 to July 28 each morning, registration each Monday in July. Ages 6-9 one hour per day €30 for four weeks. Ages 10-16 one and a half hours per day €45 for four weeks. Or now available two hours per day for €55 for four weeks. First Aid summer Camp

FAB Childcare Service

FAB Huggie Bears Childcare Service offers high quality affordable childcare for children ranging in ages from 15 months to 12 years. We are now taking bookings for September 2017. There are places available in our Playgroup/Toddler room, Playschool room and Afterschools room which includes a pick-up service from Scoil Mhuire Primary School.

Ladies gaa

Over Eighty Clonard Volunteer Ladies, Coaches and parents travelled up to Croke Park on Sunday to support the Wexford Senior Hurling Team, Despite the end result everybody had a brilliant club day out, a big thank you to Brendan, Fleetline and O'Brien Coaches for looking after us on the day.

Clonard Vols senior player Niamh Butler and her county team mates play in their Leinster LGFA Championship final on Sunday in Carlow at 2 p.m. k, we will be traveling up by bus to show our support to Niamh and her county teammates, also Katie Law and Ailbha Cullinane will represent our club at the half time mini games. Best of luck, everyone.

The only game played last week was our under-16 girls who travelled to Bunclody, the fist half score reflected a good competitive game with just one point in the difference, however, in the last quarter of the second half the home side took the well deserved three point.

Games for the coming week are: tonight our under-12 pink team travel to St James for their last round game, kick off is at 7.15 p.m., team to meet at Clonard Church at 6 p.m. On Wednesday evening our minor girls play away to St Martin's at 7.30 p.m. On Thursday evening the under-12 green team travel away to Clongeen, kick off is at 7.15 p.m., team to meet at Clonard Church at 6 p.m. Best of luck to all our teams.

Training as usual on Wednesday evenings at 6.30-7.30 in Clonard and Saturday mornings at 10.30 in Pairc Garman Vols pitch.

Our under-10 and under-12 girls were presented with their new jerseys from Paul Murphy from Wexford Viking Glass at training on Saturday morning, the girls were delighted with their new kit. Clonard Volunteer management committee, members and parents would like to thank Wexford Viking Glass for their support and confidence in our growing club.

Parents' association

The parents' association would like to wish the students heading off to secondary school in September, Breanna Sludzz Keane, Luca Sluddz Shane Doran, Christopher Kelly, Ben Kelly Paul Byrne, Lucy White, Kate Doyle, we hope that you enjoy the next chapter of your life.

The parents' association would like to say a huge thank you to all the community for the fantastic support you have given to the school and the children by supporting all the fundraising events during the year, by attending all the concerts, and ceremonies in the school. Smart Kidz

Smart Kidz playschool is opening in September 2017. It is located two miles from Oylegate and Glenbrien just off the main N11 road. In a country location where the children will get to meet a variety of farm animals.

ECCE Scheme places will be available for children from three to five years Monday to Friday from 9.15 a.m. to 12.15 p.m. Children from aged 2 1/2 can also attend for a fee of €5 per hour.

New members, both young and old, are always welcome to join our club. Under-8s train on Mondays at 6.30 p.m., under-10s on Mondays at 6.30 p.m., under-12s on Mondays at 6.30 p.m., under-14s on Mondays and Fridays at 6 p.m., under-16s on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 p.m., Minor Fridays at 6.30 p.m. and junior and intermediate on Mondays and Fridays at 7 p.m.

Ladies' Football

Under-eight training is every Wednesday evening in Crossabeg pitch at 6.30 with Ciaran Kearney (087 6121959). Registration is €30 and gum shields must be worn. Under-10 and under-12 training is also on every Wednesday evening in Crossabeg Pitch at 6.30 p.m.

Kettlebell Classes

Kettlebell Power Fitness classes for ladies, continue in Oylegate Community Centre, on Wednesday evenings from 7.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. Excercise mats and kettlebells are provided. Beginners and all fitness levels are welcome. For more info contact 087 6180872, or just arrive on the night.


Eucharistic Adoration takes place every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Prayer Room in the church. This is a time of silent reflection and intercessory prayer for personal and parish intentions. We are looking for new members to commit to spending one hour weekly (at a time of your choice) in prayer and reflection before the Blessed Sacrament.
