Students at St Peter's college cast an eye to their futures last week as they attended the school's careers evening. Run by the school's past pupils union, it gave the young men the chance to chat to people with hands on experience in a variety of different industries and how best to carve their own path in these areas.
There was a big crowd at the school on the night as some 54 people from all different kinds of professions and walks of life shared their vast knowledge and experience with the students and pointed them in the right direction. On the night students had the chance to talk one to one about careers in areas such as the gardaí, the defence forces, the ESB and engineering to name but a few.
It was hailed as a huge success and really gave the students some food for thought as they look to the future.
President of St Peter's College Past Pupils Union Declan Cloney thanked everyone present for giving up their valuable time to support the students, particularly committee member Niall Mc Cauley who put a lot of work into organising the event. There was a wonderful atmosphere as people enjoyed the refreshments served to round off the evening.
