Oyster Lane Theatre Group elected their new committee for the 2017/18 season and also announced their October 2017 production at their annual meeting at the Talbot Hotel.

The society will be bringing the classic Broadway and West End smash hit musical 'Footloose' to Wexford which will be performed at the Dun Mhuire Theatre during the Wexford Opera Festival from October 23 to 28.

It features songs such as 'Footloose,' 'Holding Out for a Hero' and 'Let's Hear it for the Boy.'

Speaking at the annual meeting, returning chairperson Greg O'Leary thanked the outgoing committee for their commitment and enthusiasm and congratulated the group on the fantastic success of their 2016 production of 'Legally Blonde' last October.

He also wished the best of luck in the future to Paula Lowney, Mick Farrell and Gillian Duggan White who were stepping down.

The incoming committee is as follows:

Chairperson - Greg O'Leary, Secretary - Caroline Horan, Treasurer - Maria Gore, PRO - Brandon Cogley, Fundraising and Rehearsals Officer - Lorraine Busher Carley, Social Media and Events Manager - Majella Londra.

Cast Liasion Manager - Yvette Walsh, Junior Task Force Manager - Annie Breslin, Merchandising Manager - Natalie Casey and commmittee members - Sinead Reck and Jenny Kennedy.

This year also saw the end of Paula Malone Carty's reign as president of the group as her four-year tenure came to an end.

Greg thanked her for all she had done during her term over the past four years and wished her every success.

Oyster Lane stalwart Majella Londra was then elected as the new society president after being active within the group for the past 22 years.
