A FORMER office manager at People Newspapers and stalwart of Rosslare Golf Club, John O'Keeffe, has died. He was in his mid-80s.
Mr O'Keeffe, formerly from Lower George Street, worked for the newspaper for many years in various capacities, including in the sales office, before becoming the office manager. He retired from the company more than 20 years ago,
He had strong links with Rosslare, where his father was station master, and where he was a very active member of the golf club. His sister Alice was the club secretary.
Mr O'Keeffe, who was very well known in Wexford and Rosslare, went to live with his sister when she moved to Dublin.
His brother Fr Paddy O'Keeffe was a teacher at St Peter's College and later the parish priest in Kilrush.
Mr O'Keeffe died on January 5 at St James' Hospital and was interred at Shanganagh Cemetery. The beloved son of the late John and Alice and brother of the late Fr Paddy, Patricia, Ellen (Lena) and Maura. He is sadly missed by his niece Geraldine, relatives and friends.
