Phelan, Mary

The death occurred on March 2 of Mary Phelan, Galway, Wexford, Waterford and Dublin.

She was the beloved mother of Fleachta and Dara, daughter of Peggy and Bob, sister of Anne, Carol, Paul and Julie.

She will deeply missed by all, including the wider family circle and many friends.

An intrepid adventurer, radio producer, bicycler, political campaigner, change-maker, musician and gardener who always wanted the world to be better and always ready to protest, sing, campaign, recycle, get arrested, cause trouble, pick blackberries, plant saplings, debate or listen to and tell stories to try to make change happen.

Her remains will be reposing in Doyle's Funeral Home,The Old Rectory, Rosbercon, New Ross from 12 noon on Sunday, March 8, with a Humanist Service at 1pm.

Removal will take place at 2.15pm to Woodbrook Natural Burial Ground, Killane, Co Wexford for burial at 3pm.

No dress code, beautiful colours most welcome. Please also bring along instruments, songs, tunes, stories, poems etc if you have any and would like to share.
