Fáilte Ireland has joined forces with historic houses, gardens and visitor attractions across County Wexford with the aim of developing tourism plans across Ireland's Ancient East.
Representatives of 12 tourism businesses from the county attended a Failte Ireland workshop in Carlow which focused attention on developing visitor experiences around a theme of a 'Tale of Two Worlds'.
Failte Ireland has been working on the initiative for two years and its work has included the completion of a study on the potential to attract more overseas visitors to the region's foremost attractions.
The Fáilte Ireland team also unveiled plans to develop other visitor experiences over the coming year including developing some new festivals.
The attractions in Wexford that are involved include: Loftus Hall; Hook Lighthouse and Visitor Centre; Wexford Trails Steering Group; Riverside Park Hotel & Leisure Club; Love Gorey; Wexford County Council; Irish Heritage Trust; Ros Tapestry; Johnstown Castle; Irish National Heritage Park and the Dunbrody Famine Ship.
