Chamber hosts Brexit briefing

The impact that Brexit will have on business in Ireland will continue to be a hot topic for the foreseeable future but Wexford Chamber of Commerce, in association with InterTradeIreland, hopes to demystify the issue with a breakfast briefing in the Ferrycarrig Hotel on April 17.

Brexit will impact businesses in Wexford that buy or sell from Northern Ireland or the UK but the uncertainty surrounding the process means it is difficult to know how to plan for it.

The briefing will outline simple steps and actions that businesses can take to be better prepared for whatever eventuality emerges.

InterTradeIreland is supporting business owners throughout this process by holding a free briefing where Mark Sterritt, Manager, Brexit Advisory Service, will share advice and information to help businesses prepare for areas of potential disruption as well as identify opportunities that may arise.

Mr Sterritt said: 'Our Brexit Advisory Service offers support and advice to businesses to help them understand how Brexit might impact them and what they can do now, at no cost.

A key part of this is the Start to Plan Funding Support, which funds 100% of the cost up to €2,000 of working with our panel of experts on a range of issues such as supply chain, logistics, customs and finance / currency to help businesses understand the implications of Brexit.

The event will focus on some of the questions companies may already have on business planning, innovation and diversification and building cross-border relationships.

Enda Kavanagh, CEO of Wexford Chamber of Commerce, added: 'We are delighted to work in association with InterTradeIreland to help businesses navigate Brexit.

'Despite the uncertainty, one thing that is clear is the need to consider all options and be prepared to act, and the Chamber will continue to work to assist businesses in preparing for any challenges.'

Registration for the briefing is at 8 a.m. To book your place, email: brexit@intertradeireland.com.
