Businesses win national food awards

Two Wexford food outlets have been recognised for their excellent level of service in the first ever Irish Asian food awards.

The Holy Grail, in Wexford town, won the award for outstanding Indian restaurant of the year in Leinster while Denis's Turkish kebab house in Enniscorthy won the Turkish takeaway of the year award.

The awards are aimed at recognising the top Asian restaurants, takeaways and food establishments in Ireland. They were organised in conjunction with Oceanic Consulting and focused on acknowledging people who work hard at promoting Asian cuisine and connecting communities through food and culture.

Oceanic Consulting is the UK's leading ethnic awards company and its CEO, Irfan Younis, congratulated all of the Irish first time award winners. Commenting on the awards he said: 'Well done to all our winners at the first ever Irish Asian Food Awards.'

'We hope you are very proud to be recognised for the hard graft, talent, joy and entertainment you bring to the industry through delicious food which represents Ireland's rich culture and heritage,' he added.
