A church gate collection in aid of Family Carers Ireland is on next weekend June 25 and 26. Your continued support is very much appreciated.

€60 will be due for those participating in the Waterford Day Trip on July 20 (envelope with your name and exact amount please). Further arrangements for members taking the day trip will be available at the meeting. The trip includes a stop for coffee and scones followed by a trip on the mini railway at Suir Valley Greenway. We then take a guided tour of the Japanese Gardens in Tramore and our day finishes with a meal at the Waterfornt Restaurant in Tramore.

Annual General Meeting

Soccer Summer School
Crossabeg AFC are hosting their first ever FAI Summer Soccer School this coming August. The camp will take place from August 22nd to August 26th, daily from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The camp is suitable for boys and girls aged 6 to 14 years. The cost is €70 per person. If you have a family member interested, please book their place on the FAI Summer Soccer Schools Website or follow @CrossabegAFC on social media and book through the link on their home page.
A reminder that the official opening of the community centre building at Garrywilliam, will take place this coming Friday evening, June 24th at 7 p.m. All are welcome along, so bring the children down for some fun and games, which are being provided by local Clubs. Light refreshments will also be served.
Silver Circle Draws
As well as the opening of the new building at the community field at Garrywilliam this coming Friday evening, the postponed final draws in the current Silver Circle annual fundraiser for €500 and the bumper draw for €5,000 will also take place, where two lucky winners will be announced. County B Championships – A number of juvenile members of St. Killian`s AC travelled to The Hub in Enniscorthy on Friday evening last for the Juvenile B County championships and there was plenty to smile about.
First to the podium was Holly Fortune who won a bronze medal in the 80M sprint and also a bronze medal in the Mixed Relay final. Lily-Ann Redmond took bronze in the 80M sprint, a bronze in the Long Jump with a jump of 3.07M and she finished up her evenings participation with a bronze in the Mixed Relay.
Eoghan Parker took gold in the 80M sprint and the 300M and a bronze in the Long Jump. Grace Pender took gold in the Turbo Javelin and gold in the Long Jump (3.20M) Saidbh Franey-Hynes had a brilliant evening winning gold in the Long Jump (2.51M) fourth in the 80M sprint, and fifth in the 300M and a bronze medal in the Mixed Relay.
Leinster Championships – Cameron Sheil and Chloe Reck, St. Killian`s juvenile athletes both competed last weekend at the Leinster championships which were held in Tullamore.
Cameron Sheil had a wonderful championship weekend. On Saturday he and his Relay team placed 3rd in the Inter County Relay, earning them the bronze medals. Then on Sunday he was back in action, taking a bronze medal in the 80M Hurdles. This is Cameron`s first time competing at Leinster level and this was a marvellous achievement for him.
Chloe Reck competed in the Inter County Relay on Saturday, where here team just missed out on the bronze medals in the final. She went on to compete in various events on Sunday but alas missed out on the medal placings. Well done to both.

Ceol Do Conall
On June 26 at White’s Hotel, an amazing collaboration of local musicians will be taking part in Ceol Do Conall, a concert in memory of our friend Conall (Mc.Guinness) from Barntown. All proceeds of the concert will go directly to It’s Good two Talk Wexford (counselling, psychotherapy and support services).
The tickets are €10 each and the event takes place from 3 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. Bands on the day include Corner Boy, The Department of Chancery and Frankenstein Bolt. Glynn Tractor Run
The long-awaited and much-missed Glynn parish Tractor Run returns on July 3. Registration begins at the hall from 12.00 hours till 13.00 hours. Volunteers are welcome to help in ensuring a good time is had by all. Everyone is invited to enjoy tea, sandwiches, and cake for in the hall after the Run. We look forward to seeing you there.
Glynn National School
Registration is now open for the Glynn NS School Development Fund 5k WALK 2022. Online entry @runireland.com. Registration will also take place on the evening before and on the morning of the race in Glynn Parish Hall. Generous cash prizes for the first, second and third in Male and Female categories.
Entry Fee is €15 which includes a T-shirt for the first 150 entries. The 5K is open to those aged 14 and over. There will also be a 2K for those aged seven to 13 years. Registration on race day. Following the success of our first Gathering, it has been decided to do the same again. You are all invited to attend for a coffee and a Chat which will take place on Tuesday, June 28, at midday, following Saoirse’s Senior Movement Class in the main hall of Barntown Community Centre.
The aim of the get-together is to encourage regular ‘catch-ups’ and activities for the older generation in the community, as in the autumn we hope to be in a position to have our very own Active Retirement Group in the parish. Come along for the chat and should you want to try the exercise bit, pop along just before 11. See you there.

Excellent play on Sunday, saw our Senior Ladies and Mixed Teams, who played Michael Glaveys come out on top. Finishing score for the Ladies 31-7 and the Mixed 26-6. Some brilliant teamwork was displayed. Well done to all.
