Missing black planters

We are trying to locate two large black ceramic pots containing Holly trees that have disappeared from the front of the Coopers pub. These pots are part of a set of six pots that we purchased from council grant money and the trees were also part of a grant application. Our volunteers spend their free time trying to get a few things done including the planting and potting of trees and shrubs.

If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of these plants, can you phone James at 086 1727703. Our community would like to have our Planters back in place.

Club lotto

St Fintan’s GAA Club in association with St Mary’s Rosslare will hold its fundraising weekly lotto each Tuesday night. Last week the numbers drawn were 4, 14, 16 and 19. Our two match-three winners were Adam Devereux and Denise Wright.

Tickets are €2 each and are available from the usual sellers and local shops, a subscription for 10 weeks for €20 is available by contacting Sharon at 086 1787498. Revenue from the lotto has been vital to the club developments of the last number years aswell as assisting with the ongoing and ever-increasing general running costs of the club. Your support is very much appreciated.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Ann Underwood, Martinstown, Killinick, who sadly died during the recent past. May she rest in peace.

GAA action

Things were quite on the GAA scene during the past week with just the under-13 of Our Lady’s Island/St Fintan’s the only teams playing games. The hurling team defeated Davidstown-Courtnacuddy in the New Ross standard championship while the football team played Craanford in Ballymore on Tuesday last. With Wexford out of the senior hurling championship round one of the club hurling championship at adult level will be played in midweek Tuesday and Wednesday, June 28, and 29.

Wedding Bells

The tiny parish had good reason to celebrate on the double during the past week when two couples celebrated pledging their love and devotion to one another. Kilmore parish church was where Deborah Doyle and Barry Wright celebrated their ceremony in the company of family and friends while Aideen Lambert and Patrick McDonnell chose Murphy’s Barn and also in the presence of family and friends to put the seal on their love for one another. We wish both couples many years of good health and happiness together.
