A sub-committee to appoint the new manager was set up after a special meeting of the County Board on Tuesday of last week.

It comprises three club representatives in John William Rowe (St. Fintan’s), Jack Kavanagh (Castletown) and Noel Holohan (St. James’), along with Ciarán Deely (High Performance Group), Micheál Martin (Co. Chairman) and Michael Hennessy-Cullen (Co. Secretary).

Gavin O’Donovan, the CEO/Operations Manager, will also serve on the committee, but in a non-voting capacity.

An update on the appointment process will be given at the next monthly meeting of the County Board on August 23, and it is hoped to have a manager in place before round five of the club football championships which will get under way towards the end of this month.

Last week’s meeting also marked the ratification of Aoife Parle from Naomh Éanna as the Secretary of Coiste na nÓg Loch Garman.

The new arrival to the top table is daughter of Louis Cullen, prominent Gorey club official. She succeeds Aileen Howlin of Duffry Rovers in the role.
