There is nothing more important to a child than fitting in, than being accepted by their peers. This is as true for the three-year-old toddler gambolling around the park as it is for the teenage rebel with the world resting on their shoulders. In theory, there’s a flock for everyone, a friend group for all children, but, as we know, some find themselves on the margins no matter how hard they try, no matter what they do.
