WORK on the oil tank site on New Ross Quays has been slightly delayed as Wexford County Council await formal approval from the department prior to signing a contract for the works.
Speaking at the March New Ross Municipal District meeting, Brian Galvin of the Special Projects team said the advance works contract for the removal of tanks was completed in July 2021.
This paved the way for the development of public realm works on the site, namely an emigrant themed park along by the river Barrow.
RRDF funding of €814,393 for the project was announced in November 2022, with Wexford County Council also contributing to the costs of the park.
