Time is ticking and pedestrianisation in New Ross is no closer to becoming a way of life, a New Ross councillor has said.

Speaking at the New Ross Municipal District meeting, area manager Mick McCormack said: “We are to meet with the appointed consultants to do the traffic management studies for the pedestrianisation proposal  and work is progressing to start this process.”

Cllr Michael Sheehan asked what the time frame for pedestrianisation would be, stressing the need for it to be in place in time for next summer.

District director Eamonn Hore said a completion date of early summer is possible.
