Thousands in tools stolen

AOVER €6,000 in tools were stolen from vehicles parked at two locations in New Ross last week.

At some time between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday €2,000 in DeWalt tools were stolen from a vehicle parked outside the Costa Coffee compound beside Tesco.

At a time between 8 a.m. and midday on Saturday around €4,000 in power tools were stolen when a vehicle was broken into at Marshmeadows.

Gardaí are working on the assumption the thefts were connected.

They are appealing to anyone who saw anybody acting suspiciously near vehicles in New Ross recently to contact them in confidence on 051 426030.

Meanwhile the rear window of a vehicle was smashed on Quay Street at some time between midnight and 1 a.m. on Saturday.
