Having returned to Páirc Charman this year following a two year absence, this year’s Relay for Life Wexford was said to have been a huge success with more than 500 people taking part in 34 teams in a 24 hour relay to express solidarity and support for those going through battles with cancer, to celebrate survivors and to raise vital awareness and funds for the work being done by the Irish Cancer Society.

Among those taking part were a team of 73 employees from Sulzer Pumps, all of whom were amazed by the inspiring atmosphere at the event. “We were proud to be involved this year,” a spokesperson for the group said. “An enjoyable day was had by all and we felt honoured and privileged to participate and raise funds for such a worthy cause. We would like to thank all our sponsors who contributed to our fundraising.”
