Planning permission has been refused for a craft and design business in Ballyhack.

Sue Donnellan applied on June 8 for permission for the change of use to an existing property at Mersheen, Ballyhack, from residential to retail (a craft and design shop) to comprise an extension to the rear of the property and to become retail area.

The proposal included a first floor extension to the rear of the property to remain residential, the addition of a new vehicular entrance and two on-site car parking spaces, and an external access stairway to the side of existing dwelling house.

Council planners refused the application in late July.
