It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in New Ross, where, despite the doom and gloom, festive spirits are high.

The town’s beautiful Christmas lights were turned on by Olympian Sophie Becker on Saturday evening. Joined by councillors, she helped bring some festive cheer to the town – even if the traditional Santa parade couldn’t happen due to concerns around the spread of Covid.

Following the successful Summer Sessions, St. Michael’s Theatre – in partnership with Wexford County Council and ELS event management – have a series of free events this December.

There will be live music and children’s shows every Saturday and Sunday afternoon on the Christmas stage at Conduit Lane, free concerts in St Michael’s Theatre, and magical Christmas scenes by Terry Brennan. Further details are to follow.
