WORK is under way to revive a community group for Adamstown.
Adamstown Development Association was formed in 2019 with a view to improving the quality of life of residents of the village and wider community.
At a meeting of the association on Wednesday night, volunteers discussed several issues affecting the village, coupled with plans to develop the committee over the coming weeks.
Among those in attendance was Cllr Pat Barden who said such a group would be invaluable to the area.
“It was set up after the election, but nothing happened because of Covid.”
An AGM of the group is set to take place in mid-February.
Among the issues in the village are a lack of childcare places, meaning some children must be brought elsewhere to be minded.
Cllr Barden said parking at the school is another issue, especially at peak drop off and collection times in the village’s two schools.
“We have been awarded the Safe Routes to School scheme, so the whole school will benefit from that.”
