A MEMBER of Enniscorthy Municipal District has expressed concern over access to Bunclody Cemetery and said it’s particularly difficult for the elderly and those with a disability to get into the graveyard.
Cllr Jackser Owens said a number of people in Bunclody have expressed concern over the matter and he is calling on Wexford County Council to ensure that both gates from the roadway in are open so that people can get easier access to the cemetery.
“One gate is always open but the council won’t open the second one and it needs to be done because elderly people are having to carry flowers, water and even gravel a long way to get to the graves of their loved ones,” he said.
“This is not good enough and something needs to be done to ensure that older people and those with a disability have better access to the graveyard,” he added.
“People are not happy about it and something needs to be done.”
