Bank holiday proves quieter than expected for Enniscorthy gardaí

ENNISCORTHY gardai reported that the bank holiday weekend was quieter than expected despite the easing of Covid-19 restrictions on the late night economy.

Sgt Colm Matthews said that there were more people around but that gardai didn’t see any greater amount of incidents in relation to public order.

He added that gardai are going to see how things go with the reopening and deploy more gardai on patrol if they feel the need is there.

Gardai are not in charge of enforcing the new restrictions and the current restrictions will be reviewed in three weeks time.
