Despite the threat of inclement weather the St Patrick’s Day parades around the Enniscorthy district were very well supported this year with the main event in Enniscorthy town attracted a large crowd of onlookers.
The organisers worked very hard at ensuring this year’s event was among the most memorable for a long time.
The Enniscorthy parade saw marching groups move from Templeshannon over Rafter Bridge and onto Mill Park Road and the colourful cortege then moved up Friary Hill, Court Street and up Hospital Lane before making their way along Parnell Road and back down towards Market Square from Doyle’s Corner.
Given it’s the 225th anniversary of the 1798 Rebellion there was something extra special about this year’s parade and the organisers thanked everyone involved in making it a great day out.
