The Terrerath Community Centre’s Badminton Group held their fundraiser at the end of April, their first badminton marathon which raised €620 towards the facility’s Astroturf.

“There were easy going rallies for the group’s regular players with their allotted time slots, with background music, homemade cakes and cups of tea to keep the players going,” said Secretary Alan Blyth.

“The committee would like to thank everyone who played on the day, everyone who came to show their support and all the players who collected sponsorship money. Thank you to Cushinstown U11 soccer players and their parents who came into the hall after their match to have a cuppa and play a quick game.

“Your support and enthusiastic energy was much appreciated. Some expressed interest in giving Badminton a go in the future. We might run a children’s Badminton for Beginners in the winter.”
