A concert called ‘Purely Popular’ is being performed at the Horse and Hound in Ballinaboola on Thursday, June 8, by the New Ross Singers.

The group are still in the afterglow of their performance of Gounod’s St Cecilia Mass in April, but now its time for something lighter.

‘Purely Popular’ will see the Singers share the concert with the much loved local group, The Nomads. Music will range through arrangements of the songs of Queen, Simon and Garfunkel, John Denver and Billy Joel, etc. If you are looking for an evening of pure nostalgia and pure pleasure, this is it. It takes place on at 8 p.m.

What is more, proceeds from this concert will go to the local Meals on Wheels and St Vincent de Paul, so it is very much worth while supporting, as these services are immensely valuable.

Tickets are €10 and are available from choir members and on the door.
