Connect Café Volunteers
SWWFRC have recently received funding from the WWETB to run a Connect Café through our Centre here in Ramsgrange. The goal of the Connect Café is to explore ways to help us connect with others, and with the local community. We are still looking for volunteers to buddy up with 10 non-English speaking people. A tutor will be running a program of events to include Art therapy classes, an offsite trip and lunch will be served in our Community Cafe each week. Parent & Toddler Group
Finger Painting proved to be a big hit with our Parent and Toddler Group recently.
The group will hold a Buggy Walk in Duncannon Park on Tuesday the 23rd May at 10am. (weather permitting). Refreshments are provided and as always, new members are more than welcome to join us
Social Welfare Application Forms
Application Forms for all Welfare Payments are now available at SWWFRC. Just drop in to Reception at the Centre and we will print you off a copy. We can also give assistance with filling in these forms, if required.
Tourism with Business Course at SWWFRC

FREE Book Library at SWWFRC
Lots of lovely books in our FREE book library at the moment. Romance, thrillers, biographies, crime and much more. June Bank Holiday weekend coming up soon so drop in and pick up some holiday reading. Although we have loads of adult books, we are very short of teenage and children’s book, so if you have any to donate, we would be very grateful. Just drop them to Reception
St James GAA
Lotto - There was no Jackpot winner. The winning Numbers 10, 19, 29, 30. There were four match 3 winners:- Eileen Walsh, Cooleskin; Carmel Doran, lotto online; Katrina O’Connor, lotto online; Bridie Lacey, Bannow. The St James GAA Annual Barn Dance takes place at Nolan’s Clonsharragh on Saturday, 3rd June - a date for your bank holiday weekend. Music will be provided by Running on Empty, followed by a disco. More information in the coming days.
Our senior men top the hurling league table and will be in a hurling semi-final next weekend so we wish them the very best of luck
Trip to Knock Shrine
There will be a one-day coach trip to Knock Shrine on Sunday 2nd July, to mark Ferns Diocesan Day. Pick-up points are Wellingtonbridge, Ramsgrange, Campile, and New Ross

Hooley in the Park
This great event will take place in the Gusserane GAA grounds on the June Bank Holiday Sunday, 4th June. There’s a great line-up of performers -Trilogy will be on stage from 5pm, followed by Tulua at 7pm. The headline band, Corner Boy, will come on stage at 9pm. Tickets are available at Eventbrite.ie/Hooley in the Park, or on Gusserane O’Rahilly’ s GAA Facebook page. Gates open at 4pm
Scrap Metal Collection
Fethard St Mogues Ladies GAA Club have organised a scrap metal collection on Saturday 27th May. The collection point is at the back of Droopy’s in Fethard village, and it will be open from 9am to 1pm. Fridges, microwaves, televisions, or household rubbish will not be accepted.

There was no Jackpot winner in the Tintern lotto draw last week. Tricia Doran, Tintern was the only match three winner and she received €200. The numbers drawn were; 7, 12, 15, 27. Next weeks Jackpot is €13,400 and next weeks match three winners will share €200. Tickets on sale in all local shops and pubs and from committee members. Draw takes place every Tuesday night at 9 o clock.

Tintern Review
The 2023 Tintern Review is being compiled and the committee would welcome contributions for the 13th issue of a magazine which is growing in popularity.
If you have any photos of people/events of high interest from times gone by or more recent times, we would be grateful if you could let us have them. Also of interest to us are the names for inclusion in a Births, Marriages and Deaths column. These can only be accepted from the families in question. Some people may have some funny real-life true stories to share and these are particularly welcome.

GAA events
On Sunday June 4th the Hooley in the Park returns to Gusserane. This year the hugely popular Corner Boy will headline the outdoor event with traditional Irish fusion band, Tulua, in support. The inaugural “Hooley” was a great success last year and this year the organisers hope to build on that success. Tickets are €20 and can be purchased on the Gusserane O’ Rahilly’s Facebook page.
Dementia Cafe at St Louis Day Care Centre
This is an opportunity to meet a support group after the couple of tough years we have had since Covid for people with dementia and their families. We will have the cafe on the second Thursday of every month.

Community Games
The Glenmore/Tullogher/Rosbercon Community Games Area Athletic Finals will take place this coming Friday (May 26th) in Rosbercon Sports Grounds. The competitions are open to boys and girls who live in the catchment area of Glenmore, Tullogher and Rosbercon.
Recent Deaths
There were two deaths with parish connections in the past week. Mikey Maher formerly of Tinneranny died in Hertfordshire England, and was interred there. Jimmy Bird of Hoodsgrove died suddenly in Lucan Co Dublin with funeral arrangements later.
Safeguarding Representatives
If anyone has a safeguarding problem, please contact our two Parish Safeguarding Representatives. They are, Ann O Sullivan from Ballykenna and Brid Vereker, Millbanks Grove Rosbercon. Safeguarding Statements are displayed in all three churches of the parish.
Synod 2021-2024
In October 2021, the Catholic Churches Synodal process on the theme of Synodality began and it was the first time that a world-wide listening process and consultation with dioceses and parishes like Ossory and Rosbercon in Ireland was attempted.
This document was sent to the Synod Office in Rome in August 2022. It also formed part of a global document entitled “Enlarge the Space of Your Tent” which was presented by the Irish delegation that travelled to Prague last February for the first ever Continental Assembly of the Catholic Churches synodal process.
