Lotto Draw
The numbers drawn in the Graig GAA and Highview Athletic lotto draw on May 15 were 3, 9, 23, 25. There was no winner. The following won €30 each: Danny Foley, Mary Coady, Leonie & Theresa Conran, Shauna Culliton, Anna Brown. Jackpot now stands at €19,200. Tickets are available from any club member.
Graig Tidy Towns draw
Winners on May 18 were: 1st Prize - Annie Hamilton, €325; 2nd Prize - Sasha & Claudia, €50; 3rd Prize - Ml Hamilton, €25. Draw takes place in the Abbey Centre at 4 p.m. on Thursdays.
Weekly clinic
Cllr Peter Chap Cleere will have his weekly clinic on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. at his office in Main Street, Graiguenamanagh.
Rambling House
The monthly Rambling House is on the second Friday of the month in Newtown Hall, where you can enjoy music and song from local artists and also many from the surrounding districts also join in.
St Mullins bus to Knock
The St Mullins and surrounding parishes bus to Knock leaves Drummond at 6.30 a.m., Glynn at 6.40 a.m. and Borris at 6.50 a.m. on Sunday, June 4. The cost is €25 for adults and €15 for juveniles.

The Rosary
The Rosary will continue to be recited every evening from 8pm for the month of May at the grotto beside Gusserane church. All are welcome to come along.
Lotto
There was no jackpot winner in the Tintern Lotto last week when the numbers drawn were 7, 12, 15 and 27. The one match three winner was Tricia Doran who collects €200. This week’s jackpot stands at €13,400.
The Hooley
On Sunday June 4th the Hooley in the Park returns to Gusserane GAA. This year the hugely popular Corner Boy will headline the outdoor event in Tom Somers Park with traditional Irish fusion band, Tulua, and also the popular local outfit, Trilogy, in support beforehand. The inaugural “Hooley” was a great success last year and this year the organisers hope to build on that success. Tickets are €20 and can be purchased through the link on the Gusserane O’Rahilly’s Facebook page. Gates open at 4pm and there will be a full bar and barbeque. Don’t forget your sun cream!
Knock
There will be a one day coach trip to Knock Shrine on Sunday July 2nd for the Ferns Diocesan Day. Pick up points are at Wellingtonbridge, Ramsgrange, Campile and New Ross and the fare of €73 includes two meals. For further details please contact Nicholas Bowe on 087 9418661.
First Communion
The weather was good and the seven communicants looked wonderful last Saturday when the children of Gusserane National School celebrated their First Communion in St John The Baptist church. Fr Willie Byrne PP presided over the ceremony where Holly Boyle, Sophie Cleary, Anna English, Sophie Kelly, Leo Kowalski, Fiachra Murphy and Jonah Purcell celebrated the sacrament of the Eucharist. No doubt the boys and girls went on to have a great weekend.
Féile
The very best of luck to the Gusserane’s Féile camogie team who travel to Kinnity in Offaly on 24th June to compete in the national finals. They have been placed in a tough group with Barryroe of Cork, Kinnitty of Offaly and Wolf Tones na Siona from Clare. This talented bunch of girls will not fear anyone however and are wished every success in their endeavours.
Patron
The annual Patron will take place in Gusserane on the feast day of St John The Baptist on Saturday 24th June at 6pm. Mass will take place in the cemetery if the weather permits. Otherwise it will be in the church. Those buried in the cemeteries of Poul, Rathimney and Nash will also be prayed for at the Patron mass.
Fun Walk
Gusserane National School will be holding a 3K Fun Run/Walk on the 11th June at 11am around the school. All are welcome to participate. Sponsor cards are available at the school or donations are welcome on the day. All funds raised will be going towards the painting of the school. Hope to see you there!
Split the Pot
Winner of the St Leonards soccer club’s Split The Pot last Sunday was Bridget Miskella who collects €330.
Cards
Winners in the hall in Gusserane last week were John Sinnott, PJ Doyle and Jimmy Lacey. Second went to Laoise Breen, Mary Doran and Michael Whelan. In third place were Nick Doyle, Stasia Furlong and Pat Ryan while the LGD went to Johnny Flynn, Willie Kehoe and Peter Stafford. Raffle winners were J McDonald, Declan Egan and J Colfer.
Tintern Review
The 2023 Tintern Review is being compiled and the committee would welcome contributions for the 13th issue of a magazine which is growing in popularity.
If you have any photos of people/events of high interest from times gone by or more recent times, we would be grateful if you could let us have them. Also of interest to us are the names for inclusion in a Births, Marriages and Deaths column. These can only be accepted from the families in question. Some people may have some funny real-life true stories to share and these are particularly welcome.

School reunion
The Raheen National School Reunion for past pupils will take place in the Horse and Hound, Ballinaboola, on Saturday 27th May at 8pm. All classes welcome, with live music entertainment on the night.
It is a great opportunity to catch up and reconnect with old friends and to celebrate our shared experiences of Raheen National School. Donations in aid of future development of the school welcome on the night. Your support, as always, is greatly appreciated.
