First Communion

The weather was good and the seven communicants looked wonderful last Saturday when the children of Gusserane National School celebrated their First Communion in St John The Baptist church. Fr Willie Byrne PP presided over the ceremony where Holly Boyle, Sophie Cleary, Anna English, Sophie Kelly, Leo Kowalski, Fiachra Murphy and Jonah Purcell celebrated the sacrament of the Eucharist. No doubt the boys and girls went on to have a great weekend.

The very best of luck to the Gusserane’s Féile camogie team who travel to Kinnity in Offaly on 24th June to compete in the national finals. They have been placed in a tough group with Barryroe of Cork, Kinnitty of Offaly and Wolf Tones na Siona from Clare. This talented bunch of girls will not fear anyone however and are wished every success in their endeavours.

The annual Patron will take place in Gusserane on the feast day of St John The Baptist on Saturday 24th June at 6pm. Mass will take place in the cemetery if the weather permits.
