Lotto Draw
The numbers drawn in the Graig GAA and Highview Athletic lotto draw on May 8 were 2, 19, 23, 29. There was no winner. The following won €30 each: Bridie Grace, Kieran Tierney, Fran Doyle, Dennis Doyle, John Fluskey. Jackpot now stands at €19,050. Tickets are available from any club member.
Graig Tidy Towns draw
Winners on May 11 were: 1st Prize - Sophia c/o Daisey Chain - €421; 2nd Prize - Paul Hayden c/o Michael Ryan - €50; 3rd Prize - Theresa Doyle, Ballyling - €25. Draw takes place in the Abbey Centre at 4 p.m. on Thursdays.
Weekly clinic
Cllr Peter Chap Cleere will have his weekly clinic on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. at his office in Main Street, Graiguenamanagh.
Rambling House
The monthly Rambling House is on the second Friday of the month in Newtown Hall, where you can enjoy music and song from local artists and also many from the surrounding districts also join in.
St Mullins bus to Knock
The St Mullins and surrounding parishes bus to Knock leaves Drummond at 6.30 a.m., Glynn at 6.40 a.m. and Borris at 6.50 a.m. on Sunday, June 4. The cost is €25 for adults and €15 for juveniles.

GUSSERANE
The Rosary
May is traditionally dedicated to Mary and seeking the intercession of Her as the Mother of God so The Rosary will be recited every evening from 8pm for the month of May at the grotto beside Gusserane church. All are welcome to come along.
The Hooley
On Sunday June 4th the Hooley in the Park returns to Gusserane GAA. This year the hugely popular Corner Boy will headline the outdoor event in Tom Somers Park with traditional Irish fusion band, Tulua, and also the popular local outfit, Trilogy, in support beforehand.
The inaugural “Hooley” was a great success last year and this year the organisers hope to build on that success. Tickets are €20 and can be purchased through the link on the Gusserane O’Rahilly’s Facebook page. Gates open at 4pm and there will be a full bar and barbeque. Don’t forget your sun cream!
Knock trip
There will be a one day coach trip to Knock Shrine on Sunday July 2nd for the Ferns Diocesan Day. Pick up points are at Wellingtonbridge, Ramsgrange, Campile and New Ross and the fare of €73 includes two meals. For further details please contact Nicholas Bowe on 087 9418661.
Split the Pot
Congratulations to Harry Twomey who won the St Leonards Split the Pot draw last weekend.
Lotto
There was no jackpot winner last week when the numbers drawn were 15, 20, 27 and 28. The match three winners were Richard Molloy Jnr of Ballycullane and Michael Sinnott jnr of Ballinruane. This week’s jackpot stands at €13,250.
Cards
Winners in the hall last week were Declan Egan, Noel Redmond and Luke Power. Second went to Jimmy Lacey, Mary Doran and Laoise Breen. In third place were Johnny Larkin, PJ Doyle and John Sinnott while the LGD went to Joan Fardy, Dick Power and Larry Power. Raffle wiiners were Willie Kehoe, Joan Fardy and Pat Ryan.
Cards take place in Gusserane Hall each Tuesday evening from 8pm and new players are always welcome. Teas are served at the interval every night.
Patron
The annual Patron will take place in Gusserane on the feast day of St John The Baptist on Saturday 24th June at 6pm. Mass will take place in the cemetery if the weather permits. Otherwise it will be in the church. Those buried in the cemeteries of Poul, Rathimney and Nash will also be prayed for at the Patron mass.
Sympathy
Sincere sympathy is extended to Esther Egan of Ballygarvan on the death last week of her mother, Biddy Molloy of Bryanstown. Mrs Molloy, who was in her one hundredth year, was buried in Clongeen on Monday.
Fun Walk
Gusserane National School will be holding a 3K Fun Run/Walk on the 11th June at 11am around the school. All are welcome to participate. Sponsor cards are available at the school or donations are welcome on the day. All funds raised will be going towards the painting of the school. Hope to see you there!
Tintern Review
The 2023 Tintern Review is being compiled and the committee would welcome contributions for the 13th issue of a magazine which is growing in popularity.
If you have any photos of people/events of high interest from times gone by or more recent times, we would be grateful if you could let us have them. Also of interest to us are the names for inclusion in a Births, Marriages and Deaths column.
These can only be accepted from the families in question. Some people may have some funny real-life true stories to share and these are particularly welcome. Parish Draw
The winners of the monthly draw were: 1st prize of €300 Liam Myers, 2nd prize of €200 Tess Dunphy, 3rd prize of €100 John Joe and Ann Cullen. The next draw will be on the 28th May. Tickets can be purchased from any Parish Council member. The Parish Council would like to thank everyone for their support. This money contributes greatly to the running of the parish.
Split the pot
Last month’s winner of Split the Pot which totalled €200 was Pat Heffernan. Split the Pot tickets can be purchased in the Post Office, the Church or from any Parish Council member. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Rally
Newbawn School Parents Association and the Sports Ground committee would like to thank all who supported them in their fundraising efforts at the rally last weekend. We would like to thank all those who helped out on the two days and everyone who baked cakes, made sandwiches and gave donations. The money raised goes to two worthy causes. Again, your support is much appreciated.

The Late Paddy Doyle
Sympathy is extended to Bridget Banville of Ballyclemock, and all relatives and friends, on the recent passing of her father Paddy Doyle from Longraigue, Foulksmills who was in his 94th year. He was interred in Clongeen Cemetery following requiem mass in the nearby church on Monday last. May he rest in peace.

School reunion
The Raheen National School Reunion for past pupils will take place in the Horse and Hound, Ballinaboola, on Saturday 27th May at 8 pm. All classes welcome, with live music entertainment on the night.
It is a great opportunity to catch up and reconnect with old friends and to celebrate our shared experiences of Raheen National School. Donations in aid of future development of the school welcome on the night. Your support, as always, is greatly appreciated.
