Meals on Wheels
Clonroche Poulpeasty Meals on Wheels are seeking volunteers to deliver meals. Meals are delivered Monday, Wednesday and Friday and volunteers would be on a rota approx every eight weeks. If interested or for more information contact Jeanne 087 2310915.
GAA Club golf classic
Cloughbawn Hurling and Camogie club are holding a golf classic on Friday June 16th in Enniscorthy Golf Club in aid of pitch development. Tee times are booking up fast, contact Brendan to book a slot at 087 7998946. Teams of 4 entry fee €200 including meal.
All Ireland Drama
Congratulations to Andy Doyle, who won best actor award at the All Ireland Drama final in Athlone at the weekend. Bronagh Hogan was also a member of the cast, which won the prestigious Abbey award, which means the play will perform in the Peacock Theatre in Dublin on the June bank holiday weekend. Well done to all cast and crew members.

Old clothes recycling We’re moving the blue bin to the other side of the doorway. Please bring your old or unwanted clothes, this includes paired & bagged shoes, belts & bags are accepted (sorry, no bedding, sheets, duvets, blankets, cushions or toys). Help to raise funds towards running costs of the Hall. Please make sure all bin bags are tied up to keep the rain out. Athletics County Final: The County Athletics final will be on Sunday 25th of June in the Hub in Enniscorthy for those who came 1st,2nd and 3rd in the area finals. Regional Athletics South Leinster Final will be on 20th August and the National Finals will be on the 27th August.
Table Quiz County Final: The Table Quiz County Final is on Thursday 25th May in Bree Hall. U14 Mixed Teams of four can be entered, please let a member of the committee know if you are interested in entering a team.
Art & Handwriting: Art and Handwriting county final will take place in Barntown NS on Sunday 28th May, start time 10/10.30 am will be confirmed closer to the day. The whole event will take place at the same time, not divided into two sessions as in previous years. Art time limit is 3 hours and handwriting is 1 hour. We are looking for volunteers to help supervise this event, please let the committee know if you can help out.
Cycling on Grass: Well done to our medal winning cyclists who won medals in the County Final on 28th April. Noah Finn won first place in the boys U14 race and Cathal Moloney came 2nd in the boys U12 race. Congratulations to both! Theatre Vamps Drama group Tramore presents, “When Harry met Sally” a modern take on a Romantic comedy classic in Campile Hall on Saturday May 13th at 8pm. Tickets €15 available on Eventbrite or pay on the door on the night.

There was no jackpot winner in the club lotto. The winning numbers were 1, 9, 15 and 26. There were five match-three winners – Eamon O’Grady, lotto online; S & M Murphy, Growtown; Jo Kinsella, Barntown; Ruth Colfer, Assagart; and Rowena Ross, lotto online. The next jackpot will be €14,000 and the Reserve jackpot is €14,000. Second Reserve jackpot €2,000 – €300 will be added to second reserve on a ‘no win’ basis. Match 3s win or share €200. The next draw will take place in Bannow-Ballymitty Clubhouse at 8.30 p.m. on May 16.
A huge thank you to everyone who came out on Sunday, April 30, to support the Coiste nÓg Family Fun Day. Lots of fun was had strolling around the various stalls and games, burgers on the BBQ, tea and coffee and a choice of baking. We would like to thank all the local businesses and individuals who kindly donated bottles, bric-à-brac, cakes and buns, prizes and more during the week. Also, a big thank you to everyone who helped in the background to make the day such a huge success. This was our second successful fundraiser this year and the underage teams will benefit hugely.
Dementia Café at St Louis Day Care Centre
This is an opportunity to meet a support group after the couple of tough years we have had since Covid for people with dementia and their families.
First Café is on Thursday, May 11, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. (we will continue to have the café on the second Thursday of every month thereafter). Guest Speaker: Laurence Collins, Wexford Dementia Advisor of Alzheimer’s Society Ireland Presentation Title: Providing information on the disease and supports in the area, help identify the needs of the person with dementia.
The Café provides a warm and welcoming space for people with dementia, their family and friends, social and health care professionals to meet, exchange ideas and learning. For further information on how to attend please email stlouisdaycarecentre@gmail.com or telephone 051 389509.

Late Richard (Dixie) Chapman
The death occurred last Tuesday of well known local man Richard (Dixie) Chapman, Templetown, and formerly of Ramstown, Fethard-on-Sea, New Ross. Dixie is sadly missed by his loving wife Maimie daughters Vivienne & Fiona, sons Eamonn, Robert & Richard, his sister Moggie Nolan, daughter-in-law Geraldine, son-in-law Sean, his grandchildren Conor, Orla, Eimear, Dale, Ryan, Laura, Kira and Carly.
Dixie’s Funeral Mass took place last Thursday in All Saint’s Church, Templetown with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Sympathy is extended to his wife and family, May He Rest in Peace.
Late Sylvester Carolan
The death occurred recently of Sylvester Carolan, Clonard. Predeceased by his late wife Josephine, he is sadly missed by his sons Sylvester & Tom and daughters Mary & Angela, stepson Paul and stepdaughter Alison, his brothers Michael & Vincy and sister Mary and his grandchildren Michael, Isabel, Connor, Keira, Hayley, Taylor, Julia, Ben, Luke, Amy and Molly, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends to whom sympathy is extended.
His Funeral Mass took place last Friday in St Aidan’s Church, Poulfur followed by burial in the New Cemetery, Poulfur. May He Rest in Peace

Fethard/St.Mogues Club are holding a Scrap Metal Collection on Saturday May 27 at the back of Droopy’s from 9a.m. to 1 p.m. Collection service also available from Monday 22nd to Saturday 27th.
The following will be accepted: all steel, metal galvanise, aluminium, copper, vehicle batteries, lead, stainless steel, old bikes, alloy/steel rims, cans, brass, old slides, washing machines, dishwashers and cars. NO fridges, freezers, microwaves, televisions or household rubbish.

Well done to Cian Byrne and his brother Cillian and Eoin Whelan who all contributed to the Wexford U20 Hurling victory over Westmeath recently. They now play Kilkenny in Nowlan Park this Wednesday evening at 6.45. Congratulations to Danny Neville who won €50 in the recent GAA Club and County Draw.

Ballycullane Veggie Growers are holding a Plant Sale in Ballycullane Parish Hall on Saturday, May 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lots of lovely fruit, vegetable and flower plants for sale, and tea are also available.
