Charity Match in Aid of Noah Lambert - A Charity hurling match will take place on Saturday evening 20th of May at 6.00 pm, donation boxes will be at the grounds, and all funds raised will aid Vinny, Jackie & Noah Lambert as Noah continues his road to recovery. All donations are greatly appreciated. Come along and enjoy the match with refreshments afterward in the clubhouse.

Old clothes recycling We’re moving the blue bin to the other side of the doorway. Please bring your old or unwanted clothes, this includes paired & bagged shoes, belts & bags are accepted (sorry, no bedding, sheets, duvets, blankets, cushions or toys). Help to raise funds towards running costs of the Hall. Please make sure all bin bags are tied up to keep the rain out. Swimming County Final Results - Congratulations to Hannah Hennessy Murphy who achieved 4th place, winning a medallion medal, in the U12 freestyle swimming National Final in Castlebar on Saturday 13th May. A fantastic achievement and well done to Hannah!

Talent - Well done to Sophia Byrne, who represented Rathgarogue Cushinstown in the U12 solo singing event, at the County Talent finals last Saturday in Bree Hall. We are so proud of you and hope that you had a fantastic evening!

Table Quiz County Final - The Table Quiz County Final is on Thursday 25th May in Bree Hall. U14 Mixed Teams of four can be entered, please let a member of the committee know if you are interested in entering a team.

Art & Handwriting - Art and Handwriting county final will take place in Barntown NS on Sunday 28th May, start time 10/10.30 am will be confirmed closer to the day. The whole event will take place at the same time, not divided into two sessions as in previous years. Art time limit is 3 hours and handwriting is 1 hour. We are looking for volunteers to help supervise this event, please let the committee know if you can help out. St James GAA

Important date to mark in your diary. St James GAA will hold their annual barn dance on Saturday, June 3, in Nolan’s Barn Clonsharragh. Music will be provided by Running on Empty, followed by a disco. More information in the coming days.

Dementia Café at St Louis Day Care Centre.

This is an opportunity to meet a support group after the couple of tough years we have had since Covid for people with dementia and their families.

We will have the café on the second Thursday of every month. The Café provides a warm and welcoming space for people with dementia, their family and friends, social and health care professionals to meet, exchange ideas and learning.

Late Alice Touhy

The death occurred recently of Alice Touhy, Saltmills. Sympathy is extended to her son John and daughter Alice, relatives, neighbours and friends. Her Funeral Mass took place last Saturday in St. Aidan’s Church, Poulfur with burial afterwards in the New Cemetery Poulfur. May She Rest in Peace.

Temporary Change in Mass Times

There will be no Sunday morning 10am Mas in St. Aidan’s Church, Poulfur on Sunday 21st of May. Mass for Poulfur will be switched to 7.30pm on Saturday. There will be no 6 PM Mass in All Saints Church Templetown on Saturday the 20th of May. Mass as normal on Sunday morning at 11am.

Fethard/St.Mogues GAA

The Fethard contingent were well to the fore as the Wexford U20 Hurlers defeated Kilkenny last Wednesday evening in Nowlan Park in the Leinster semi-final. Cian Byrne was top scorer on the night while his brother Cillian also chipped in with a point while Eoin Whelan was very impressive at full-back. They play Offaly this Wednesday evening in Dr. Cullen Park, Carlow at 7.30. Please come along and support the lads.

Fethard players were also involved with the Wexford footballers who played out an exciting draw with Fermanagh in Enniskillen in the Tailteann Cup last Sunday. Richie Waters made his first start for the team while John Tubritt was a second half substitute. They are at home to Antrim next Saturday.

Scrap Metal Collection

Fethard/St.Mogues Ladies Club are holding a Scrap Metal Collection on Saturday 27th May at the back of Droopy’s from 9a.m. to 1 p.m. Collection service also available from Monday 22nd to Saturday 27th.

The following will be accepted, all steel, metal galvanise, aluminium, copper, vehicle batteries, lead, stainless steel, old bikes, alloy/steel rims, cans, brass, old slides, washing machines, dishwashers and cars. Congratulations to Agnes Waters, this fortnight’s winner of Split the Pot.

Draw every 2nd Wednesday. The Development Association continue their campaign to get the Bottle Bank returned to Fethard as we head into the holiday season.
