Late Thomas Dowling

Another of our most popular residents, Thomas Dowling from Shanbogh, passed away after a long illness last week. He was well-known and much respected throughout the whole area and his death left a void which will not be easily filled.

Thomas was waked in Cooney’s Funeral Home New Ross on Tuesday the 6th Sept, and was laid to rest in Rosbercon Cemetery on Wednesday last after Requiem Mass in the Church of the Assumption.

Sincere sympathy goes to his wife, Kathleen, his sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and the extended family in their great loss. May his gentle soul rest in peace

Championship Hurling

The Tullogher/Rosbercon junior hurlers booked their place in the Kilkenny Championship after an emphatic win in the League Last Saturday.

Facing a strong Emerald’s team from Urlingford on home soil was always going to be a tough assignment with the Northern team also scrapping for points. However, the locals rose to the challenge and came away with an emphatic 3-19 to 1-17 victory.
