Rathgarogue Mini Movers Club

A course in Fundamental Movement Skills for children aged 4 and 5 years will take place in Rathgarogue Hall on three consecutive Saturdays–August 6th, 13th and 20th. The time is from 10am to 10.45am each day. The children will be taught by experienced tutor, Catriona Hendrick.

Benefits of the Mini Movers sessions include:–Improves flexibility, strength, balance, co-ordination and discipline;–Assists with building stamina and improving memory;–Helps develop gross motor and fine motor skills; Provides an opportunity to develop social skills and make new friends;–Boosts self-esteem and confidence;–Encourages participation and team play; All equipment will be supplied.

Cushinstown Church Split the pot

Old Clothes Recycling: Please bring your old or unwanted clothes, this includes paired amp; bagged shoes, belts amp; bags are accepted (sorry, no bedding, sheets, duvets, blankets, cushions or toys). If you’re planning a clear out, look no further! The recycled clothes will help to raise funds towards running costs of the Hall and the clothes will be shipped to developing countries, so your donations will be helping people twice! Please put the bagged clothing in the large blue bin at the front of the building, please make sure the bags are tied up to keep the rain out. The blue bin is available at all times and there is parking at the side of the road. We are looking for a caretaker/maintenance person for our school. This is a Tús position and will be for 19.5 hours per week. The duties will include overall responsibility for general maintenance and upkeep of external/internal areas of the school. Ramsgrange Active Retirement

This month’s day trip is to Cork and the English market on August 24, cost will be €25 for members and €30 for non-members, this includes a cup of tea and a scone on the way at the Park Hotel in Dungarvan. We will visit Fitzgerald’s Park and the museum for a nice stroll and stop for a meal on the way home at the Old Thatch. Call Kelly to book this.

Tri the Hook

With August now upon us, the annual Tri-the-Hook Sprint Triathlon is just over a week away. Tri the Hook ‘22 is taking place across the Hook Peninsula on Saturday August 20th starting in the beautiful Baginbun beach and finishing up in the Fethard St. Mogues GAA Pitch. Tickets are moving quickly and are now 80% sold out, so be sure to confirm your place by visiting www.trithehook.com

The swim takes place on Baginbun beach and is marked out with buoys on the day. The route is 250m out from the beach, 250m across the bay and 250m back to the beach.

The cycle route is clockwise out the mini-roundabout between Slade and the Hook Lighthouse and back via Templar’s Inn. Where the cycle route is on open roads competitors must follow the rules of the road at all times. The run route is counter clockwise down to Fethard Dock and back to the GAA pitch.

Fethard/St Mogues GAA

Fethard/St Mogues club would like to congratulate our underage partners, Clongeen on their recent success in the County Junior A Hurling Final.

Congratulations also to Horeswood who won the Intermediate A hurling title and will join Fethard in the Intermediate ranks next year while commiserations to Taghmon who lost out in the Intermediate final.

Split the Pot

The Fethard Development Association Split the Pot is back in action with buckets in Dillon’s Londis, The Wheelhouse Cafe, Fethard Pharmacy, Molloy’s Bar, Neville’s Gastropub, Geminii Hair and Beauty, Fethard on Sea Tourist Office, Milano’s Takeaway, and soon to be in Baginbun Lodge, Beautiful U, Salon 60 and Hook Lighthouse. Draw every 2nd Wednesday.

Thanks to Josephine Kehoe on all her hard work getting it going and all the local businesses who are displaying the buckets for us. True community spirit. Jimmy Butler won €112 in last week’s draw.
