FUNDING of €30,000 has been allocated to New Ross Municipal council to develop a sensory area at Pearse Park.

Council chairman Cllr Michael Sheehan welcomed the news, saying the sensory area will be an excellent addition to the park, which will see the tennis court resurfaced this year and a planning application for a skate park submitted also.

Cllr Sheehan said the sensory park will be of benefit to people of all ages, whether they have additional needs or not.
