A large crowd gathered in Inistioge in the early hours of Saturday morning, May 6, for this year’s Darkness Into Light walk, raising more than €6,000 for Pieta House – the suicide prevention charity.

A sea of yellow passed through the beautiful village on a dry Saturday morning, crossing the bridge and completing the walk, with many people who died by suicide remembered across the country as the dawn broke on a new day.

“We had a great turn out for the walk with a lot of new faces joining us this year,” said John Gilsenan of Cois Abhann centre in the south Kilkenny village.

“We invited everyone to join us in Cois Abhann for a cuppa and chat afterwards. Monies raised for Pieta House will be in excess of €6,000,” he said.
