Business people in the Ramsgrange area are suffering due to road works by Greenlink in the area.

Cllr Anthony Connick highlighted the matter at the May New Ross Municipal District meeting.

"There are a lot of problems with Greenlink in Ramsgrange. They are doing their own thing. I’ve had four complaints this week from farmers and businesspeople saying their appeals are falling on deaf ears. That Greenlink have done the work and are coming back and doing more works. I think it’s very serious. They are due to start their works again. There are even talks about job losses,” said Cllr Connick.

He said Greenlink – which is building interconnector electricity infrastructure between Campile and Wales – have held meetings with affected individuals but information is not coming back to them.

District director Eamonn Hore said it was his understanding that the road in Ramsgrange won’t be closed entirely, rather that there will be a stop and go system in place.
