Supporters of the NWSPCA joined forces with some furry friends for a coffee morning fundraiser in Courtown recently.
Held in Geek Restaurant Courtown, the event saw volunteers, community supporters and even some canine companions come together to share food and beverages in support of the charity. At least €252 was raised on the day, with final proceeds yet to be calculated.
"It was a brilliant day with really good attendance,” said Rebecca Coen. “As much as these things are a fundraiser, they’re also about bringing people together for a social occasion. It gives people who support the organisation the chance to come together.”
All of the proceeds raised will go towards the day-to-day running costs of the charity.
On behalf of the NWSPCA, Rebecca stressed their gratitude to owners of Geek restaurant and long-time NWSPCA supporters, Glenn Donnelly and Emer Cullen.
"Glenn and Emer are big animal lovers,” she said. “Not everyone is aware that you can bring your dog there with you at any time and enjoy a coffee and cake. It’s a great place.”
