THIS year’s Tara Bishop 5k Memorial Fun Run will take place in Ballymurn village at 12 noon on Sunday, May 29.

The event will be managed again this year by PopUp Races and those interested in participating can register their interest and make a donation through www.popupraces.ie.

Donations can also be made at registration on the day of the event.

All proceeds raised will be split equally between Temple Street Hospital and Ballymurn National School.

This year’s event is being sponsored by Kimallock Developments Ltd and because of that all money raised will go directly to both causes.

Significantly, the organisers are letting participants decide their own entry fee and there will be a donation box at registration, which will be open from 10.30 a.m. to 11.45 a.m on the day of the event with the run-walk getting under way at 12 noon.

Refreshments will be available afterwards and there will be spot prizes given out on the day.

The event is extremely popular and has increased in strength year on year with an average of 500 entries over the last three years.

A spokesperson for the organisers commented: “We sincerely thank each and every one of you who helped make this event happen.”

It’s hoped the success of the event to date will continue this year when the event will take on its traditional live format fun run or walk.
