Shielbaggan principal Patricia Foran is bid a fond farewell at her retirement party

THE years of service and dedication Patricia Foran brought to local students in both the role of teacher and principal was recognised at her retirement party in the Brandon House Hotel.

Ms Foran of Ballygarvin, Gusserane, spent two years working at C.B.S. New Ross, a year at Newbawn NS, followed by her longest tenure – at Adamstown NS, where she spent 14 years. Nine years at Ballycullane National School followed, with Ms Foran finishing her career as principal of Shielbaggan National School for a decade.

Patricia said she enjoyed every one of her 35 years in total of her teaching career which spanned working in several communities in south west Wexford. “She always displaying the utmost dedication in her service to the educational system and most importantly the students at her various teaching posts,” her successor in Shielbaggan NS, principal Kevin Nimmo said.

A special presentation and dinner in acknowledgement of everyone’s sincere gratitude for Ms Foran’s many years of dedicated service was held by the Shielbaggan National School Board of Management and St James Parish Finance Committee at Brandon House Hotel, with best wishes expressed to her upon her retirement.
