TWO lifelong friends who recently celebrated their respective 70th birthdays at a joint event in Jordan’s Pub, Ballindaggin, were delighted to raise money for Wexford Hospice Homecare.

Andy O'Neill and Johnny Foley became friends while marking each other in an U12 Rackard League hurling match almost 60 years ago.

Johnny, from Knockduff, Ballindaggin, told the Enniscorthy Guardian that he and Andy first met when he was playing corner back for Marshalstown GAA club and Andy was corner forward, for Duffry Rovers.

“We were both 12 when we met in the Rackard League,” said Johnny.
