MEMBERS of Gorey Parkrun made a generous donation to Gorey FoodCloud after running a collection over two weekends.

They said that they didn’t realise how much was raised until it was all laid out on the table, and thankfully people from all across Gorey, Arklow and Avoca benefitted from the food.

Arklow Community Action Resources Centre and the food drop volunteers gave a huge thank you to Gareth Mitchell, Nemoe Van Der Bliake and all at Gorey Parkrun.

“We are truly blown away by your generosity and kindness. Thank you to all of you, you really have shown what the Parkrun spirit is all about,” said Gareth of Parkrun to all who donated.

As the new year begins, Park walk returns to Gorey Parkrun every Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Town Park.

Whilst walkers are always welcome at Parkrun, the Park walk initiative is intended to encourage more walkers to take part in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

All are encouraged to walk at their own pace, with walk leaders on hand to offer advice and encouragement on the way round and to help keep people going.
