THE Presentation Centre in Enniscorthy is this week playing host to a fundraising event that is going to have people rocking in the aisles

Rock ‘n’ Roll To The Rescue’ was written and produced by Adrienne Murphy and features the glorious music from the heyday of rock ‘n’ roll between 1957 and 1963. The story is based around two central characters who were both pivotal in the world of popular music – Elvis and the Big Bopper.

The show features a lot of early Elvis tracks with the lead role being taken care of by local singer-songwriter and actor, Cameron Cloke, while Dick Butler performs the role of the Big Bopper.

Commenting on the show Ms Murphy said the production also features some formidable acts including The Bellefords.

A huge cast is involved in the production and in addition to giving the audience a raucous and rocking good time the aim of the show is to raise money for Pieta, one of the most respected community support organisations. The show begins at 8 p.m. each night except Friday, when it kicks off at 7 p.m. Tickets priced €15 are available at the door or at www.presentationcentre.ie.
